  1. Thank you! So daunting!!! I was a bit of a mess the first part of the morning when I called NLCEX customer support and they told me I wouldn't be in...went anyway, and walked in without so much a question about my temporary license! :) Now, of course, I am dying to know if I passed or failed....stopped at 75, but I don't feel confident at all. God is in control, though, and I believe if He got me in today, He will get me through it! Best wishes to all!!!!
  2. Thank you SOOOO very much! :) That does set me at ease! I cannot imagine that they make you have the old one, as it is a rule to surrender it. I finally fell asleep last night, and now am trying to go back for a couple of hours! Thank goodness it is in the afternoon! Again, thank you, and congrats to you!!!!
  3. I DESPERATELY need some advice! I am wondering what your result was with this, and if the renewal paper was enough to get in??? I am supposed to take NCLEX tomorrow, and should be sleeping, but I am worried about this. My license were up for renewal this year, and I needed a new picture ID as I had different hair color, wt. change, and pre-braces picture in my old photo. I got my renewal slip, and thought this would suffice, but do you have to have the old driver's license as well because they made me (and everyone I think) surrender my old one, so all I have is the paper renewal slip with picture id, signature, etc... but, now I am worried! FAST response appreciated. Thanks!
  4. Hi there! I am a student at the Athens campus! It is true that you need a competitive GPA, but keep in mind that they look at everything as a whole, so don't lose hope just yet. My core nursing GPA is 3.8, but as a whole, it is only close to 3.5. This is only because I had a class that a WF transferred into an F due to an illness that caused me to miss a big exam that I didn't get to make up. So, I have almost a 3.5 WITH that F, but if you take it out--which I didn't need that class for nursing school, as it was an unrelated class I took before I changed majors--it is a 3.8, close to 3.9. They say that they take the overall GPA, but in my case, I think it was overlooked b/c I could explain the one bad grade I had, and they also look at the overall trend of your GPA. I have always heard that they also go really heavily on the essay portion, etc. I am a good writer, so that worked in my favor, and might in yours. Also, if you have any experience/volunteer work, it will help. I actually had none and still got in. However, when I first got accepted, I got accepted to the Augusta campus and the choice to be put on the alternate list for Athens. Even though it was a long shot, I had to take the alternate list as I couldn't move to Augusta, and lo and behold, I got in. I hope this helps, and keep your chin up--if you are meant to go there, it will work out for ya! :) I know God was in it for me, and MCG SONAT is where I was meant to end up! Just make sure you apply as early as possible as that will also help you out. Best wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Thanks, & congrats to you as well!!! I know you are just as excited!! I think we all know within ourselves what is the right thing to do. At least you seem to have been in a position where you could move. I never applied to the Augusta campus either, only Athens. I had even checked no to the box on whether I would choose it if I didn't get my preferred choice. So I was a bit shocked back in Feb. when I first got my acceptance letter to Augusta, & then after I said no, still getting TWO phonecalls! I think it's great though, that they do still give the option, & it really lifted my spirits by them calling me b/c the lady was so nice & was just wanting to offer it to me so I could start this yr. rather than have to reapply. She also made me feel so confident by telling me that they wanted students like me, & that I was indeed qualified for Athens, but it just got full quickly as it was highly competitive this yr. I just thank God that I stuck to my gut instinct, because He had something better in store for me! I truly did get very fortunate! Best wishes to ya, & enjoy what is left of our break! :)
  6. Oh, & I start in June to answer your question! I wish you were going with me!
  7. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Actually, I just found out on Tuesday! & I was-and still am-FREAKING OUT!! I had decided that I just couldn't do the Augusta thing, & I mean, I really, really prayed about it, but I just didn't feel like it was the right option. So, I sent the letter back in, along with one I typed up myself, & told them that I wished to be placed on the alternate list. In March, I got a phone call from someone, & she told me that they wanted to offer me a final opportunity to take the Augusta spot b/c (& I quote) it was "highly unlikely" that I would get in Athens this yr. She called TWICE! She was very nice & told me that I was indeed qualified for Athens, but it just got full & was very competitive this yr. She also led me to believe that they don't allow many people to be on the list. But, of course, I don't know how many or where I was on the list b/c I knew better than to ask b/c they aren't allowed to say. I was a little upset after I talked to her, & really didn't think I had a chance, & told her I was prepared to apply again in October, & other places since this was the first place I applied. She was nice, & told me they would love to have me & she hoped to see me next yr......Little did I know I would get a call Tuesday morning!!!! I freaked out when I heard the message! I called, & all the person said was that she wanted to make sure I had all my pre-reqs done if I were to get accepted. When I told her I was done, she told me there was actually a spot available, & asked if I would like to accept!!!!!!!!WOW! Dumbfounded is the best way to describe how I felt, & thankful!! I had totally let go of the notion, & just put it in God's hands that His will be done. As soon as I stopped thinking about it, it happened!!!
  8. I GOT IN AT THE ATHENS CAMPUS!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!:bowingpur
  9. I just wanted to let everyone know that after much praying & thinking, I decided that I just simply could not go to Augusta as I am a wife & homeowner, & commuting is simply not an option (almost 3 hrs. everyday), So, I sent in my letter asking to be kept on the alternate list for Athens for the slim chance that I might get in if one of the 25-30 spots happened to open up. I got 2 phone calls offering me a chance to still accept Augusta b/c it was "highly unlikely" that I would get in Athens @ this point, even though I was assured I was qualified for it. I still said no, & just left it in God's hands prepared to reapply in October, as well as to other nursing programs since this was the 1st one I had applied to. Well, lo & behold, I just got a phone call Tuesday, & I AM IN AT ATHENS MCG CAMPUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!! I am just in shock now, & thankful! I say this only to give God the glory b/c it truly is a miracle that I got in after all that...... Well wishes to all!
  10. Thanks kh0828! I appreciate all the thoughts & prayers! Although--I still do not know what I am going to do since I got accepted to the Augusta campus!! I have still been praying for those of you who haven't heard. I have some friends whose status hasn't changed yet as well. Maybe it will work out....all the best!!!
  11. That is very admirable!! It is nice having a supportive husband, too, & I am speaking from experience, as well as the fact that it is obvious yours is very supportive too!! My hubby said that if he could sell our house, he would in a minute to move...very sweet, but I don't want to do that or give up my new house I love so much....& as you mentioned before: not a good time to sell!! I don't work, either, nor will I be able to after all I have heard. We just have to do what we have to do to reach our dreams, & it will all work out if it is meant to be. We can't let a little bump in the road discourage us!!!!! I still have yet to decide; I am going to pray on it some more. Def. not ruling anything out just yet. Best wishes to you, & I will keep you updated all along, & you do the same!
  12. WOW!!! Sounds scary regardless of whether we live down there or not!!! I talked to someone today & got some of the same responses, but thanks for posting this b/c you asked some questions I didn't.......I was leaning on thinking it wouldn't be a good idea to do with all the work, & just how far it is, but this pretty much nailed the coffin shut! So what do you think you are going to do?!?! I just don't know what to do myself. I have a friend who lives down there, but cannot imagine being away from my husband all week & traveling back on the weekend! We have a house too, so we can't just up & move, & my husband works in Dunwoody....sounds like we are in very similiar situations, huh?!
  13. Hey! I replied to the other thread, but then noticed you had posted this one, so just in case you don't get the other reply, I wanted to let you know that I am VERY interested in carpooling if I decide to accept the Augusta campus (which I am seriously considering). After I pray on it & decide I will definitely let you know something in the next few days & we can further discuss. Once again, thanks for the proposal of carpooling! If we decide to do it, it will definitely help out with that TERRIBLE commute! Talk to ya soon, Mandy
  14. MANY CONGRATS TO YOU GADAWG88!!!! I'm sure you are so relieved! I know the feeling. afallgaier, Sorry for the delayed response; my husband & I just got back from out of town! We left for V-day & to try to get away & clear our heads & figure out what to do about school!! I am as scared as you are, & I have the same questions!! I mean, what are the chances that people reject their positions, & if they do, what are the odds that I will even get in next year?!?!.... It's so funny that you brought up carpooling because I laughed & told my hubby the other night that you & I should carpool if we both decide to go to Augusta!!! So I am glad that you brought it up & I am VERY interested if I decide to go there. I am going to just really pray about it over the next few days & hope that God will give me a clear answer before I decide anything final. I am also going to call the office & see if they will answer some questions for me. I am wondering if they have a certain method for how they choose off the alternate list if someone declines, what the schedule is like to see if it is feasible for me to drive, etc. I will for sure let you know something soon though!!! Thanks for considering it!
  15. Well everyone, my letter FINALLY arrived today!!! I GOT IN!!! Just as I suspected & said in my other post, my situation is the same as yours, afallgaier. I got a guaranteed spot in Augusta OR be put on the Athens alternate list....now I don't have a clue as to what I am going to do!! I guess some serious praying & :thnkg:! I mean, do I move or make a horrific commute or be put on the list & risk losing my spot & then have to do this all over again next year?!?!? UUUGGGGGHHHH! But, at this point I am just praising God that I got accepted!:bowingpur Thanks to all sincerely for the thoughts & prayers! I wish you all the best & please let me know when you hear something! Happy V-Day to all!
