MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

I hope these 2 weeks fly by! These past few months went by so quickly... but I have a feeling these next couple weeks will go by sooo slow only because I'll have nothing but the nursing program in my head!!

Has anyone taken Intro to logic or Intro to ethics yet? Those are the 2 classes we can choose from right? Just wondering what class is better and if anyone has any advice. I'm hoping to take one of these classes in the summer. Thanks!

I'm in ethics right now. It's boring, but not hard. I hear that logic is horrible. One of my friends took it at MCC and hated it and another friend that goes to OU took it and hated it as well. I looked at her notes one time and it looked really confusing. So, I would go with ethics if I were you!

yeah I'll probably stick with ethics lol....thanks!

You can also take comparative religions, that's what I did and it's so much less stressful than ethics.

You can take intro to ethics or comparative religions. I took comparative religions with an awesome professor who made a boring class interesting. It was super easy, i had a 98% in the class.

I'll definitely check out comparative religions! Thanks for the advice! It also depends what they have available in the summer. This is the last class I need to take so that I can focus only on nursing if I get in this fall.

I'm I'm intro to Ethics. I like it! Did everyone do their PHED credit? I have to do that in the summer. What class should I take?

@KaitlynN, I plan on taking another course towards my bachelor's like comparitive religions... What teacher did you have? Can you PM me since we can't post it on here?

I did PHED years ago so I don't have any recent info but I remember really liking the class I took. It was about wellness and prevention.

Hi KaitlynN,

My stomach is in knots as well. I got a 3.8065 and an 84 on the HESI. I am literally choking with anxiety, and that letter did nothing to alleviate my fear of not being accepted to the program. I really do not think with that HESI score, I will be accepted. I guess the best thing to do is PRAY!!

Jester,

I actually spoke with one of the advisors the other day. She told me that in terms of taking classes towards the BSN; that schools like Wayne and UofD wouldn't accept the Comparative Religion, that they wanted the intro to Ethics. However, we would still need an Anthro class, or Sociology.

Got mine! GPA 3.78, HESI score is 90. I'm so nervous!
