Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
I graduated high school in '14 and went straight into the 4 prereqs, so I'm a little unfamiliar with what to expect... I'm applying with a 3.6276 GPA and a 95 HESI score. I hope the HESI will compensate for my rather low GPA. I spoke with a counselor today after receiving my letter, and she said that the application rate has been declining with the recent accreditations of other CCs. She also said there was an inverse trend of GPAs & HESI scores, so there is hope if you're good with one or the other! IIRC, the averages of the last 5 people accepted over the past couple years was ~3.6 & 84 on the HESI. Also the counseling department expects to mail the final ranking/composites/start cycles/acceptance-alternate letters by 04/27/15.
