MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Published

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

I personally didn't have any F to C conversions, but every test is different from what I hear. I had a lot of ratio and proportions, decimals to fractions, and half of my math was fill in the blank and word problems which made it very difficult for me. Anatomy had a good amount of content from the hesi study guide, same with vocab. Make sure you know all the vocab though because my test didn't really use words in a sentence, it just outright asked me what the word means. Hope this helps!!

Hi everyone! My name is Arlene and I will be applying this year. :) I've been reading up on everyone's posts and found the advice to be very helpful! I took the Hesi today and wish everyone taking it tomorrow good luck!!! :)

I really wish they would as well I have epilepsy and have had to b rushed to the emergency twice since I started studying for the test one time I had my book with me and one of the nurses said "the hesi is the most unuseful but time consuming part of nursing school journey " not accepted yet but I honestly agree lol

What was your score any tips lol

What are your stats Arlene?

If u don't mind sharing it allows all of us to be able to know our chances in comparison to others I take mine in the morning beyond nervous

Any last min tips Kristi :-)

Deanna everything you said about the HESI was true. I went over the book and studied the math, grammer and vocab sections and it was very similar to the test. I got a 92! I'm still shocked lol...Good luck tomorrow, you will do great!!!

I also transferred some credits from another college so I should be applying with a 4.0. I just need to make sure they received them and updated everything. I worked way too hard for those A's (esp in Anatomy and physiology) and really hope they transferred smoothly! I wish everyone applying luck! Hope we all get in!

Wow u did beyond great with those scores u should def be in top 5 to get I'm glad I was able to give u a clue on what to expect... Thanks for the luck I will need it lol

Keep us posted those who took their HESI today!! :)
