Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
IVE BEEN STUDYING MY BUT OFF FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS IM SO NERVOUS THINK IM GONA MESS UP SOME HOW ... NO PROBLEM KRISTI I HOPE SOOOO TOO YOU SHOULD BE FINE WITH YOUR TEST SCORE .. And maria like wise gpas are really hi this semester almost everyone I know is applying with a 3.9 or 4.0 where are my folks with like 3.5 to 3.8 GPAs lol my GPA will probably be some were around 3.6 so I'm counting g on the hesi as well ...
The book is a great review ... For every subject besides anp make sure to go in depth in subjects they cover for instance in the digestive system in the book they say things like fats are absorbed through lacteal capillaries but don't mention that protein simple sugars and nucleotides are absorbed through blood capillaries and the reason fat aren't absorbed through blood capillaries are because they are too big to fit in the digestive cells although the book only states fats are absorbed through lacteals the test may ask a question like why are fats absorbed thru lacteals or select all nutrients absorbed through blood capillaries just tryna give an example of why you can't depend on the book for anp.. The book is more of a brief of what to go in depth on and study .. Hope this helps you also khanacademy on YouTube is great for ROS .. Hope this helps you out ... Also if I would have to choose the system with the most questions it would be the endocrine system go as in depth with this as possible dry for the long post but I hope someone finds this helpful ... All other sections are almost jam on with the book good luck
Of course I can't tell you exact information, and of course it changes all the time, but there are some areas that you might not think to study in the A&P section, I would spend some time on acid-base balance (it is in the chemistry section), nutrients, and genetics (in the biology section).

Thanks Deanna, I appreciate it! Hopefully we both make the cut this year!
