Mayo Nursing Externship Summer III 2019

I applied for the Summer III nursing externship and I just wanted to start this forum to see where everyone is at in the application process.

No I didnt..I was thinking that if they didn't send a confirmation back by Monday I would call.

Did you guys end up filling out all of your sub-specialties? I can't decide if that's how I want to do it.

@itblikethat Yes. Someone from here called and they said it is a good idea to help them determine your unit (if you make it to the final selection, of course!)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Mayo does send a confirmation email back. I got an email from the placement office two days after I submitted mine letting me know they received it! Don’t worry if it takes them a couple business days to respond, but I would call if it takes more than that.

I just submitted my stuffs in as well!!! Hopefully they send us back a confirmation email back on Monday.

Have y'all application status changed at all? Mine is still saying "app in review"

@adwag For the confirmation email, is that like a pre-type thing that you received or is it like something that a real person reply back saying that they got it? Just wondering...

@bruhbsn I got an email back this morning from a real person thanking me for sending them in. It gives some peace of mind knowing someone actually opened the email.

what did everyone end up listing for their units?! so curious to see all the different types of nursing this group might be interested in!

I chose ICU as my first specialty with PICU, NICU and Cardiac Surgery as my top 3 sub-specialties! It blew my mind how specific units are, definitely nothing like I've experienced in clinical!
