Mayo Nursing Externship Summer III 2019

I applied for the Summer III nursing externship and I just wanted to start this forum to see where everyone is at in the application process.

I'm confused too. where do we rank the sub specialties if we do rank them?

@carv it's all done on the PDF that was attached to the email, it has like fill in boxes next to each one

From my understanding, we do each specialty then the sub-specialty area. If you open the form to download it has spots for you to rank them.

Hey guys!! I got an email and am moving on too! I'm super excited. Do y'all have any idea how they make the decision from here? I assume it's mostly GPA which seems a little scary, I oly have a 3.5 but my school is on a +/- scale so maybe they'll take that into consideration. Also my top choice would be peds but I feel like at Mayo anything would be amazing.

My withdraw link is still there and I didn't get an email. Does this mean I won't have a chance anymore? =( Mayo has been my dream.

@LifeIsBeautiful2019 I think in past years those with rejection did not hear until 2/1. Keep your head held high, you never know if there was a system error or they may email you tomorrow! Either way, this does not define you as a nurse!

Hello everyone! I found this forum when searching about the Mayo Summer III externship, and have just been reading through it. I received the "request for additional information" email today and am just so nervous + excited. It was such a long shot applying for this externship, and now it seems like it might be a possibility.

Is anyone else going to be just in a state of super high anxiety until Feb. 15th rolls around? Also, what are they judging our applications off of at this point? The essays we wrote, resumes, GPAs, or combination?

Welcome @adwag! I'm not 100% sure what they'll be going off of for the second round, maybe our essays since there isn't an interview? I don't really see them reading almost 1000 essays for the first round

Is anyone ranking sub specialty from 1 -14 for example or just 1-5 in sub-specialty and leave the rest blank?
