Hey everyone!!!

I am so excited to apply for the Mayo Clinic externship of 2018. I have been dreaming of it since high school.

Best of luck to everyone who applies. I truly hope that all of the most passionate nurses will get in.

Hi everyone! I also got an email today! Does anyone know how many people are selected into the final phase?

Apparently there are 100 applicants that get moved forward and 50 of them get offered a position. I don't think that includes alternatives.

Hello everyone!

I'm hopping on this thread too. A little about me, I live near Mayo and it's been my dream to intern here! I have a friend who was an intern at Mayo and friends who currently work at Mayo full-time.

I also received an email today about providing a transcript and preferences sheet. I'm curious...for those of you filling out the form of preferences, what are you choosing? Are you numbering every sub-specialty?

@Lilyb Thanks for the info! I've also been checking to see if the "withdraw" link was still active since in previous years it changed to inactive. I guess things are different since they changed the applicant portal.

Also, I have no idea what I'll do for the preference sheet. A lot of the specialties aren't even offered in my hometown so I want to take the time to read about the ones I'm most interested in. Honestly, I'd be excited for anything...except for maybe OR haha

@Lilybe Congrats on making it through the first round! I did too! I plan to choose Critical Care/ICU/Trauma for my first choice and I am definitely going to fill in every sub-specialty. I wouldn't want the form to look incomplete or for their to be any confusion on what I wanted on my end. Best of luck! What preferences are you choosing?
