Hey everyone!!!

I am so excited to apply for the Mayo Clinic externship of 2018. I have been dreaming of it since high school.

Best of luck to everyone who applies. I truly hope that all of the most passionate nurses will get in.

I started a forum, in case we wanted to talk, and bounce questions off of each other :)

@Kirs10RN Thanks so much for the response! I ended up choosing NICU, pediatrics, and trauma in the Critical Care/ICU/Trauma for my first choices. I did not fill in every sub-specialty because I would like them to place me in the next category (if I do not get one of my top 3 in that particular specialty). I hope that works! Congrats to you!

I know they said we won't find out until Feb 16th but I literally cannot stop checking I'm so anxious!! Anyone else?!

I haven't turned in my preference list yet so I know there won't be any updates on Mayo's site for me. It is so exciting knowing there's a 50% chance we are in! I have a hunch we will find out if we are in or not a few days early...maybe by the 14th. Who knows though!

Nothing yet! I still keep checking even though it will probably be another week. Does anyone want to share what they put as top choices? I did trauma, medical ICU, and neuro ICU. Super excited to find out anything :)

Hey everyone!!! I know the waiting is brutal but hopefully you find out here soon. We found out Feb. 15 the year I was a summer 3 in 2016. It was the best experience of my life!!! Dont be dissapointed if you dont get your top pick, I didnt, and I loved every second still. I ended up back here at Mayo once I graduated and still am so grateful for the opportunity I was given when I was offered a summer 3 spot. Good luck to all, I am very excited for you!

Guys! I am sweatin'! Has anyone heard anything or seen any changes on their Mayo application? I have to sign a "contract" for another internship by Thursday so I'm hoping we hear ASAP. Ahhhh!
