Mayo Clinic Summer III-2011

Hello everyone!

I am a nursing student from Chicago & i have just submitted my application for the Mayo Clinic Summer III program. I was also curious to know who all are applying for the program, and what specialty you want to go into...my top choices are Hematology/Oncology & Gynecology. I really hope to get this great opportunity, I don't care about the distance! Please share :D

I'm so upset. :crying2: Summer III was the reason that I pushed myself since I started NS -- when I learned about it, I thought to myself "This is what I want to do!" I had a solid application and excellent GPA, and thought that I'd add diversity to the program. I know that it, and the other 3 programs that I've applied to (and been rejected from) are ultra, ultra competitive but I'm heartbroken because I'm looking at a summer unemployed (the hospitals around here won't even hire NS to be care techs), trapped at a broken home, and likely unhirable after graduation.

I have two more extern applications out but at this point, I'm giving up hope. Between this and having my car fail on me yesterday has brought me to my low point.

Congrats to those who got in, I wish I knew your secrets. :crying2:

I got my letter a couple days ago and was accepted! I can't wait to find out where I'll be places! Gotta wait 2 months now...

I have a 3.84 GPA. How about you? Did you apply/get accepted?

I had a 3.74. For the people that got accepted are you planning on living in the provided housing?

Yep, I'm living at the local college in a townhouse. I think that would be good since it's with other interns in the program. I'm excited! Where are you living?
