Hello everyone!
I am a nursing student from Chicago & i have just submitted my application for the Mayo Clinic Summer III program. I was also curious to know who all are applying for the program, and what specialty you want to go into...my top choices are Hematology/Oncology & Gynecology. I really hope to get this great opportunity, I don't care about the distance! Please share
Oh yeah, best of luck to all
Everyone keep your heads up and a positive attitude. We all have attributes which likely improve chances of being accepted. And even if you aren't accepted, it's just one single missed opportunity. There will be many more in the course of our careers. I don't know how they go about the order in which letters are sent out, so don't fret if you've not received yours yet. I live within 10 miles of the clinic, so that might be why I received mine so quickly. And thank you for the encouraging words regarding the alternate position "yourfuturenurse"
Yes! I, too, thought I had a good chance. No, my GPA was not the best, but I don't think that necessarily makes a good nurse. I figured my essay portion was well-written, but there were a lot of applicants so I can't be down on those who did get chosen. It just wasn't meant for me to travel 6 hours to leave the fam and my bf lol. BUT I am still looking at places to apply. Good luck to those who have made it. Have great experiences and let us know how it goes!
