Hey everyone! I am making this thread for people who are interested in applying for the nurse residency program at Mayo in Arizona! I haven't seen anyone make one yet for the July 2022 cohort so if you're interested in applying, this thread is for you! Hopefully we can keep each other updated on the process ?

Yes, I think so. Based on what other "cohorts" have said you let the hiring manager/interviewer which unit (med surg, ED, ICU, etc) and shift you prefer and they'll try to place you there. However, people in the program often get night shift/second choice units based on which preceptors/units are available.

Thank you for clarifying! I barely survived my night shift externship at St Joe's, so I know I am not a night shift person.

I feel ya! did some nights for clinical and it wasn't pretty. but I think I'll take it if mayo offers me a job- worried I don't have enough experience (did an accelerated 16mo second degree program out of state and we didn't have the opportunity to do an externship at all)

Got an email this morning saying the app has been forwarded to the hiring manager. One step closer, excited for all of us:)

I think there are ~60 spots available? 300-400 people applied for the Feb residency, hoping for the best!

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get back to us about interviews??
