Hello, I have just accepted a job at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and was curious if anyone else will be starting as a new grad soon? They would like me to start in mid-February. I will be graduating with my BSN in December and am super excited about this offer. Minnesota is a big move for me since I am originally from California. Maybe looking for potential roommates? If anyone is a new grad, I would love to hear from you on the forum!

Hello! Yes that would be great! I will be starting on Feb 12th also! I am coming all the way from California and will be working on the vascular surgical PCU floor. I am also moving in with 3 of my friends from nursing school. Where are you coming from and what floor are you on?

Why go to Minnesota, when Mayo is nearby in Phoenix? Best of luck, working for Mayo. You will be getting lower than average pay and be under their microscope.
Let us know how it's going.

Why so negative? Is it because they are starting their adventure in nursing, while you have reached the end?
Yes, I wish them nothing but the best. And I hope the experience is everything they seek, plus more.
Make new friends. Learn new skills and enjoy life!
Yay!!! I'm moving from South Dakota and will be working in hematologic oncology! Have you already found a place to live??
I am definitely excited for this opportunity!
I would think you would be more positive in such a great oppurtunity such as this instead of bashing on another nurse. We should all be excited for each other and seeing comments such as yours is very depressing. I had my clinicals at the Mayo in Phoenix and I would prefer to work at the main Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. They flew me out there and I fell in love with how the entire town is literally Mayo Clinic. Not to mention, the one in Rochester is the number 1 hopsital in the nation. I am excited work for a hospital that is well respected in a city such as Rochester as a new graduate where I will be able to gain such great experience. This is only my first year and I am free to move whenever I would like if I choose to. Please keep your negativity off this forum, thank you.
Yes I have! I will be living at Grandeville at Cascade Lake with a 4 bed 2 bath with some friends from nursing school. Wbu? I will be alone there for a week as I will be waiting for my roommates to move in. Hopefully we can meet up when we start! Are you at St. Mary's? Have you visited Rochester, MN? They flew me out their 3 weeks ago and I loved it!!
Oh really? That's good to know!! I actually just got here today for my POPA and to find an apartment! I will be at the Methodist campus! I'll be moving there the 7th for good I believe!! I'd love to get together! I don't know anyone here really.
Oh yes my friend is at the Methodist hospital for ortho! Yeah definately check out Grandeville at Cascade Lake, Woodridge and Quarry Ridge. Those were my favorite. Also checking out some restaurants including Canadian Honker which has pretty good food and drinks. You should also see the Gonda building as it has a really cool cancer and research center as well as a museum! Yes getting together would be fun! I take the NCLEX this friday and am freaking out!! I find out monday and if I pass, I will hopefully be moving in on the 8th I think but not sure yet.
I'll check into those for sure! I have a UWORLD subscription if you want to use it?? Let me know! It helped me a ton!
