Hello! I am currently in my last semester of nursing school and will be applying to Mayo Clinic. This would be such an amazing opportunity and it would be an honor to be accepted into the summer 2020 cohort.
I've heard that this program is very competitive and difficult to get into without any previous healthcare experience (e.g. Mayo Clinic inter, CNA experience, etc.). I'm worried because I don't have experience other than my clinical rotations. I was wondering if any of you had any insight into if Mayo will hire people without experience / any other advice about increasing my chances of getting hired? Thank you!

I applied today! Hopefully we can keep each other updated with the application progress!
I did too! I have been anxiously awaiting this day haha! Really praying I can at least get an interview. Good luck to everybody!
I applied as well!! I'm excited to finally get the process started, good luck to all of you!
What area is everyone hoping to work in? ICU for me! I know they want ICU experience either with work or precepting and I was going to precept in the ICU but all clinicals/precepting are cancelled for the rest of the semester ? I work as a nurse assistant in the float pool of a hospital so I've requested to be floated to the ICU as much as possible. Hopefully that will be enough.

I applied to ICU too! My school's preceptorships have also been canceled ? so best of luck to everyone in the same situation
I am hoping for ICU as well LOL. But like avemadi23 said, my preceptorship in the icu was cancelled. I had icu clinicals at mayo but I know they said that doesn’t count. So that’s a bummer. I would take a pcu position though if I need to
Yeah I'd be happy with any position. How did you like your clinicals in the ICU at Mayo? I'm from out of state so I've never even been there before!
