im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......

Hello all May test takers! Congrats to all of you who have passed :yeah: and Good Luck to those who are going to take it soon! My test date is on May 24th. Studying is SOOOO stressful and I'm trying soooo hard not to freak out! haha

Also, to MaleNursesRock... that song you said was inspirational, I listened to it on YouTube just now. Gotta say it's a great song to listen to for studying and to calm someone who's freaking out (like me)! :D

okay..

i took the nclex yesterday, and i got 265 questions. 20+..i lose counts. but its more than 20 sata's, like 15+ meds?, tons of prioritizations, 4 calculations. the last time, i was really nervous and all in every question i did. yesterday, im just relieved it's all done. the i took it more calmly and paid attention to every questions. i was sitting right there ready to take the 265 questions..so they did gave me the maximum numbers..teehee. i know it's not with numbers. i just want to share to you guys how thankful and grateful im done with it. it took all the breaks-i had 30 mins in each break. really spending alot..lol. now i'm waiting and praying eagerly that god would grant my desire to pass this test. i lift up the result because by now, his work is the only thing i could lean on. it's in his mighty hands now.

be positive. you took the test, now be patient with the results. just relax.

may nclex takers,

true enough that most of us are multiple test takers....a good sign that we're strong and that we dont give up just like that. all of you are an inspiration to me not only in nclex taking but in life as well. to those who have passed, this is the start of something new. and to those who werent able to make it, just think of it like this, if we made it multiple times....so can you....if other people can make it, so can you. with all honesty, passing after multiple tests makes it sweeter. thats my opinion. i really appreciate passing the nclex after all the money, time and sweat that i shed on it than passing my local boards back home where i didnt give much effort.

did i tell you guys how i would torture myself just visiting hospitals and looking at RNs before i passed? yup....i used to do that. make myself really envious of the RNs....my way of motivating myself. moreso, when my sister gave birth last feb. I was devastated that i wasnt the RN taking care of her or doing initial neonatal care to my niece...with that, it just made me study more....and it all paid off.

so here i am......prepping to sell myself to the best hospitals down here in northeastern florida....lol!!!! :))

-I like those stats, they look good. 20+ S.A.T.A and tons of priority you say--i am right there praying with you.-try to keep yourself busy and not think about it..what i did was went to blockbuster and got like 11 movies--(all the movies i missed because i was studying)-and just watch them--its gonna be at tleast 3 days or a little longer for you to know-.-go relax now, either way YOU DESERVE it !

To everyone who passed: What was your study prescription? Perhaps you can help others on here by giving your study "secrets"

I won't get my results until mid June but I feel pretty good about the test. My study prescription was very similar to Suzanne's first tip. I did the entire Saunders book. (almost) Did the questions first. Read the answers and took notes on what I didn't know. Then went back and read the chapter and highlighted everything I thought was important or needed to remember and took more notes. Then before going to bed that nite I re-read my notebook. Before getting out of bed the next morn I tried to recall everything I had learned the day before.

It got to be too heavy for me and in the end I started to slip. There were 3 chapters I didn't do in the Saunders book at the end because I ran out of time but it was no biggie. :)

This took me 3 months to complete.

Took the boards yesterday and failed. Really down in the dumps. Sister passed everyone knows so constant reminder of my ordeal. Need help. Looking to do Suzanne's plan but can't figure out how to email.

So sorry to hear this Grad69.:icon_hug: I'm sure you'll get plenty of help and support from the members here. :heartbeat I didn't do Suzanne's plan so not sure how to contact her. But I do know she has her 1st tip up at the top of the board as a sticky that you do first. Good luck. :heartbeat

Very sorry to hear this grad69, i know it is difficult at this time but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I failed the first time and did kaplan online, classroom course with question trainer and q bank the second time and passed with 75 questions, it really helped me.

Remember God will make a way when it seem there is no way.

Tons of hugs.
