apparently, ive been waiting for other people to start a support group for may nclex takers.....but no....so here i am.....
im taking my nclex on the 7th of may...hopefully, i pass this time. im tired of living a non-RN life......
woot woot I passed... I passed!!!!
OK....so this is what happened.
It is kinda of funny........in retrospect.
OK....I went in all nervous, scared and freaky.
I sat down and I started with the preliminary 6 or 7 questions they use to acclimate you to the test. They give you the answers. You just point and click properly.
So I am going thru the first few and I am getting that swimmy head feeling.
I start to see the starry floaters you see as you are about to pass out and the curtain of darkness drops.
I hear this little inside voice. 'Don't be her! Don't be her!'
Her being the girl who took the NCLEX quite a few years back. She vomited thruout the test. They gave her a barf bag so she could complete the exam.....and she did.....and she passed. But the legend of the barf girl is alive and well.
So I am losing it....but....there was that something going on there. It was saying....orange....Orange....ORANGE. palpitation, palpitation, tachycardia.
Please select the color ORANGE from the list below.
Ok...breathe...orange...ok...Orange.....yes...breathe....pursed lip breathing slow.....things are coming in to focus....
ok *click* ORANGE.
whew.
And the real questions came. By question 6, I am in the zone.
And I answer this, that and the other thing.
click click click.
Then I notice.
I am on # 73. Oh crap....I had better slow down. The clock on the outside said that only 45-60 mins had passed. OK slow and steady...click.......click
Screen goes blue.
If NCLEX would sell the videotape of the 36 faces people make when they see the blue screen freeze.....they could play it for 5 years on America's funniest videos.
My hands were over my mouth. I was a 60 degree angle. The lady put her hand on my should and I almost jumped a mile in the air. She drug me out of the room.
My friend was in there for 3 more hours.
Sheer torture for both of us.
If she would have failed. I would have for sure cried because we had been there before where I passed and she failed. Not now. Not now.
BUT THIS AM WE FOUND THAT WE DID INDEED PASS!!!!!!
ORANGGGGGGEEEEEEE
(and I didn't go down as the barfilicious or the girl who fell out during the test and passed)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
God is Good!!
Hi,
I took my NCLEX-PN today at 8:00am. There were 175 questions. What does that mean? I went in there with a mind set to take a test with 85 questions because that is what I was told, either 85 or 205 questions. What does it mean to have 175 questions? Somebody please help!! Has anyone ever had more than 85 but less than 205 questions before. Freaking out tonight.
