Welcome May NCLEX-RN Overcomers, First let us start with a prayer.

O God in heaven, we commit ourselves unto thee and pray you bless us in your infinite kindness and grace. We commit the NCLEX-RN exam unto your hand and we pray you give us the knowledge, wisdom, understanding and retentive memory to pass this exam. We pray you see through our studying, memorizing and question answering. In your grace, let us pass this exam and give thanks to you.

AMEN.

Welcome again people, In the month of May, we are going to overcome the NCLEX. This thread is to share study tips, encouragement, motivation and anything that will help us to succeed the exam. Let's study hard and believe. I am currently using Saunders for content, LaCharity and Kaplan strategies. Please feel free to share your advice, study tips, etc. Good Luck everyone, the month of May is our month and we will Pass!!!

I the way I answered sata was by looking at each answer as if it were a true false question and doing practice questions over and over.

This is how I studied:

Kaplan (thin book) for test taking strategy

Saunders for content: read from cover to cover

Lacharity: for practice on answering priorty and delegation questions.

Practice cd's used: saunders cd, ncsbn online, nclex 4000. I did about 1500 questions.

Memorized lab values

Memorized infection control precaution.

I rescheduled at least 5 times until I noticed my practice scores were in the upper 70's -80's.

Good luck to you....good luck to us all!

Thanks for the information but could you please emphasize on med calculation. I mean were they straight forward or you had to think a lot? also help me with the durg calculation formula. I know i am asking too much but i need help GOD!:nurse:

You can do this! You will pass! I passed this past Saturday (my 4th time taking it) with 75 questions 2 dosage calculations, lots of Psych question, priority and delegation, 1 put in order, and who would you assign this LPN patient to? GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU who will be TAKING THE EXAM! Lots a prayers also helped! When you are taking the exam take a break and clear your head when you can't figure/remember something!

I took mine last Friday, 20th of May.. I would say, 80% of the questions were SATA.. I read Saunders (for months due to my full time job somewhere) and NCLEX EXAM CRAM book (for 2 weeks).. I would say, it helped A LOT!!!!! EXAM CRAM IS A MUST! MUST! MUST!

KittyCuteRN, I believe on the ATT sent to you, it gives you a time period to take the exam. So if it says July 2011, there should be a specific date on the ATT for the month of july that you need to test by. Utilize your time well. If you have up till July and you feel comfortable taking it in July then you should. Don't rush yourself if you still have time on your ATT.

just finished taking my test. however, i ran out of time. dont know what to think right know all i know is i done my best and whatever happens i know that it is in GODS hands and i trust in him. am i worried? alittle. but theres nothing i can do about it b/c its done. do i feel i should've waited? no. b/c whats in GODS will will be done. pray for me that i continue to have this attitude and continue to hold my head high

Hi all,

finally, I have my name on the Board of nursing,

from a limited experience i advice you to re-read the basics and then go for practice exams, this will help you understand and rationalize the answers, and for non native english speakers such as myself, you need to read the question twice and choose your answer after reading the 4 choices,

Good luck to all
