Welcome again people, In the month of May, we are going to overcome the NCLEX. This thread is to share study tips, encouragement, motivation and anything that will help us to succeed the exam. Let's study hard and believe. I am currently using Saunders for content, LaCharity and Kaplan strategies. I did too, i took the assessment over today (Saunders) and created my study calendar. I truly believe content was what i was lacking on. God Bless to everyone!
A friend of mine gave me her hurst book to review before I take the live review class in a couple weeks. I can already tell that this class will be great for me. I plan on taking my exam in the middle of May when my 45 days are up and could use A LOT of prayers! I will pray for everyone taking the NCLEX in the near future. We can do this!
I believe content is important in preparing for the NCLEX exam. I'm using Saunders and it is very helpful in understanding content; couple that with answering questions, is a good idea. We will overcome this exam in the month of May. We have GOD on our side!
My 45 days are up May 21..and believe me i am taking it right away...No waiting for me..I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthen me..We Got this and We will PASS!!!! Im excited for next month..So keep me posted
I took the NCLEX for the 1st time on March 17th and got all 265 questions. I thought I was going to die.... it turned out that I didn't pass. After taking the weekend feeling sorry for myself, I picked myself up by the boot straps and rescheduled it for May 3rd. I am really nervous about taking it again as I really don't want to fail..... i don't know if I can handle another failure. I have been using saunders to study. I find it very difficult to find big blocks of time to study through out the day, as I am a single mom and I have to work 40 hours a week. I try to study for 2 hours each night..... just question after question.
Anyone have any pointers on how to get over test anxiety? I am my worse enemy.....

If u don't pass ur test when does the 45 days kick in, is it after u register again or just from the the u took ur test? pls i don't know can anybody help me out? because i just found out i fail my test which i toook on April 11th, 2011.

I am taking my NCLEX May 6.
The hardest part for me is that I am already a practicing RN in Canada, and I am finding it hard to choose the right NCLEX answer vs what I would normally do in practice.
Today I bought the HURST online review and so far, so good. Worth the money I think. I was going to go with Kaplan but I figure Hurst was cheaper for the same content. I only have about 3 weeks to study- and I work full time + overtime- so this is going to be one interesting exam. :)
I should also mention I am using Exam Master (online) to help with questions, and Saunder's box of flash card review questions, in addition to the Hurst program.
I am taking my test for the 3rd time on May 3rd. I need all the prayers I can get! I've been reviewing my Saunders book and using the Saunders CD for review questions. Today I actually started hanging up pieces of paper with random information in my room, like lab values, ECG changes, Erikson's Stages, isolation precautions, etc. Hopefully that works and I just don't end up looking like a nut .
I was wondering if anyone has any hints for how to study pharm. for boards?? I really have no idea where to start on it, since there is such a variety of questions that can be asked about meds.
