I am currently precepting in a great SICU, i love it so far. I want to concentrate my efforts in an ICU. I have 2 options lined up.
I am still "in limbo" with where i want to work!
I want to know everyone's plans for their first job out of school
also, congratulations on graduating nursing school, we have been through the ringer and now can actually dish out some info, hahah maybe

I will be working in a large PICU in a university level 1 trauma center. It is a great place for new grads because they are good with teaching!
I have worked in that department for a year as a nurse extern so I am thrilled! I start in early June.
Congrats to everyone for finishing up nursing school---can you believe we are all near the end??
I was on a unit 3rd sem for clin and they sent me an awesome letter that they wanted me and stuff. well i did do an interview there 3 week ago, i walked into NM office and she said it was a formality and asked me what shift i wanted to work. needless to say i accepted the positon the next day. i am now on that floor for my preceptor which is working out well, because its my orientation also! i got a call yesterday to start sooner than i had signed for because they want me on the unit sooner!
AWESOME!
Thanks for letting me brag a bit everyone! i would love to hear everyone else's stories!

I have been accepted at an amazing hospital to do a nurse residency program! It's for new grads only and you pick a track and get to rotate through three different units until you find one that you want to hire on to. The program is a year long and you can stop it at any time throughout that year if you decide a unit is for you. I am doing the women's health track and will start out in the newborn nursery, on to post partum (which I'm not too thrilled about) and end in Labor and Delivery (which is where my heart is)! I think this program is going to be a great way to transition from student to professional nurse and will give me a better understanding of the whole picture before I get to L&D. I start orientation and classes on May 8th!! Congratulations to everyone! We made it!!!!
