Very frustrated! back in January I attempted to order some kits for the girls for maturation class from Procter and Gamble. No luck! They had boys' kits, but the girls' were all gone. Live and learn on that one! I need to be on it earlier next year.
I did contact some other companies, but it seems none have any freebies for students.
I am trying to come up with something for the girls. Maybe a trial size deodorant and pad..I may ask the PTA for help.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you do for your students?

We use the Proctor and Gamble kits. They vary from year to year as to what's in the kit. Several years ago they quit sending deodorant in the boys kits, just a pamphlet. So I started buying deodorant samples for the boys. Then they quit sending deodorant for the girls, so I just added that to my part. So now for this year I'm sitting with 200 boy deodorants b/c they supplied it again for the boys this year!!!! Some years their kit for girls had two regular pads and two light days pads, some years one of each, and, most recently, just one mini pad. What they do offer consistently, though, is the little booklet for each. You could make your own kits with a deodorant and a pad or two. You'd have to re-create the information in the little booklet somehow if you want to include that. I have a spare boy and girl booklet if you don't have any if you'd like me to sent them to you to see what you might like to make on your own. I order deodorants from Weiner's Ltd in Madison, WI at 69 cents each. Do you at least have the DVD?

Someone posted on a previous board that Kotex will send a box of pads.
Otherwise, I just supply the PTA with a package of pads to make kits for the girls and the PTA usually buys travel size deodorants for the boys.
Hotels will also sometimes donate hygiene items.
Maybe even check with local dentist about dental kits.
Thank you both!
schooldistrictnurse, I will have some boy kits, but they had run out of girl ones. I would love to see a girls' pamphlet. maybe I could make copies. We do have a DVD.
Cackalacky, I am hoping the PTA will come through! I plan to get the pads..They can buy the deodorant for the girls.
Good to know the boy kits have a deodorant this year. It's the little things!
SnowyJ, look for a Private Message from me.

After a conversation with an Administrator today it looks like I'm going to have to order some hygiene supplies. Where do you ladies order mini-deodorants and other supplies? School Nurse Supply?

actually, i've often contemplated ordering stuff out of Bob Barker - it's supplies for correctional facilities, but they have deodorants as low as 31 cents a piece. and sanitary napkins coming out to about $.16 ea
