When you are posting, look at all the little buttons above the text box, like B I or U. To the right of them, about in the middle, you will see a globe with a chainlink on it. Click on that. It will pop up a window where you type the website and then click on OK.

Hope this helps. :)

Oh ok! thanks a lot for responding! Have a happy day!

When I am on a web site that I want to bookmark or link I merely copy and paste the address of the site which appears in the Browse box at the top of my window. I then paste that address into text I am composing, hit the space bar once and Windows automatically makes it a hyperlink and the link turns blue. When I am posting messages with links in them (to math sites, for instance) I usually compose the message on a word document, then copy and paste what I've composed to a "Post Reply" window. All the links come through OK. If I'm ever in doubt I double check the links by clicking on them myself to see that they work after I've "Submit(ed my) Reply". If they don't, then I go into my message and "Edit" it. The more you work with this, the more clearer it will be to you.

Thank you to each of you for your help with math and how to place the hyperlinks.

I plan to relearn intermediate algebra this spring, studying at home using my old text book and the internet math links. This coming fall 2006 I am hope to be prepared to pass the entry test into college algebra..if not then take the intermediate class.

Where is my energy for all of this... :)

I am re-taking the math sequence in order to take calculus again. I just finished Intermediate Algebra. A MathXL tutorial CD came as part of our textbook package. You can also access MathXL on line. If your college bookstore doesn't include this with your textbook you can order it, but may have to pay for it (about $20). This was, without a doubt, one of the best math helps I've ever seen. It is capable of generating practice problems and give you step by step information on how to solve them. Intermediate algebra is pretty much honing your ability to factor quadratic equations by site, grouping, completing the square and the old quadratic formula. You will learn about graphing functions, complex numbers and that weird imaginary number i, some elementary work with logarithms and exponential equations toward the end. You may or may not get into the equations and graphing of circles, ellipses and hyperbola.

Does anyone have any suggestions on taking statistics.......I've been avoiding this class til I can't anymore......I need help desparately:crying2:   :chair:

you all know what sparks notes are, don't you? those page size plastic sheets of information on all kinds of college subjects that you can buy at your college bookstore for about $5 each. well, here is the company's online site. this will link you into math information.

http://www.sparknotes.com/math/ - this is spark notes math study guide. you link into the subjects in math that you are looking for information on. also includes some practice problems with answers within the various sections.

Thanks for posting those links. Math is my weak area...I know if I can just get through it I'll be fine.

Hello all,

I am new to this site and do not even know where to begin.... let me tell you a bit about me... I am 37...years young.. with 3 teenage children... I took care of my {{{ Dad}}} for the last 3 years he has had a colostomy pouch... with this last year being tough... he had kidney failure, and had to go to Dialysis 3 times a week for 3 1/2 hrs each visit.. I stopped work to take care of him full time. (spend time with him)as of this October he got real sick... tired and could not walk far.. his heart was giving up..he had CPD,, and CHF... only 25% of his heart was working... they said there was nothing more that they could do.. he came home... and Hospice helpped us ... he passed away on Dec 11th 2005 10:35pm with my boyfriend and myself right there with him. This is what has made me decide to become a nurse... it never occured to me... being that I am 37... to "start a New Career" But In my heart I know ... I Can Do IT! I saw the difference it made when we had very nice nurses come in the hospital room and also when we had ones that were not so nice.... ok sorry so long..

I made a promise to myself and to my {{Dad}} that this is what I am to do.. Now I am nervous... I have not had to do math in such a long time... not real hard math... I am stressing and it did not even get started yet.. I have a Nursing Entry Exam... on this Friday..Jan13th. it is like 2-3 hrs long they said.. with reading and math... reading easy MATH i want to scream... I found some links that I do find Very helpful and will use them.. but I think I am trying to do TOOOOO much.. Does anyone else know what to expect on this entry test? Any info... would be Great. Help me through this.

Thanks The Rose

I am sorry about your dad..

with my application I got a self test.....

Here is the link I used to help with fractions...

http://www.math.com/school/subject1/lessons/S1U4L2GL.html

on the left you will see diff. links to do diff things with fractions.

Here are examples of the self test I got for the LPN course in Winnipeg CA.

Reduce to lowest terms:

1. 16/24

2. 18/96

3. 70/490

Multiply these fractions:

1. 1/6 x 4/5 x 5/2

2. 1/5 x 15/45

3. 1/2 x 2/3

Divide these fractions:

1. 1/75 divided by 1/150

2. 1/8 divided by 1/4

3. 2/3 divided by 1/2

Change these fractions to decimals:

1. 1/6

2. 4/5

3. 1/8

Write these fractions in long hand:

1. 0.25

2. 1.17

3. 0.1

Round these decimal to nearest hundredth:

1. 0.25

2. 132.547

3. 4.539

Which decimal has the greater value:

1. 0.125 of .5

2. 1.002 or .567

3. 0.25 or 0.4

Solve:

1. You are to give 500,000 units of ampicillin. The bottle is labled 1,000,000 units/4ml. You will give ___ ml.

2. You are to give morphine 60mg. Tablets are labeled 40mg each. You will give ___ tablet/s.

3. You are to give equanil 0.2g. Tablets are 400mg each. You will give ___ tablet/s.

4. You are to give demerol 100mg. Tablets are labled .1g each. You will give ___ tablets.

I find the last 3 areas the easiest, and also multiplying and reducing fractions.
