  1. Thank you so much for posting this!! I can get a head start on A&P II over the summer :)
  2. Ooops... sorry I meant neutralized. I had a question on an assignment I turned in tonight. I can't remember exactly how the question was phrased...it was a dilution question. But I was able to get the answer. Thanks though!
  3. PH question If you an acidic solution that has a pH of 1 and you add a basic solution that has a pH of 1 they would neutralize right? So would the pH of the combined solutions be 7 or 0? TIA!
  4. Great thread! I'll be studying my A&P text in preparation for taking it this coming fall. Does anyone have a syllabus or an outline they could share to help me with some of the basics? TIA!
  5. Oh ok....love powerpoints and objective lists! :) My Chem professor started posting the powerpoints online, I think they have been key in my success in the class. Love 'em! Stacy
  6. how do i do this...lol. when i sit down to read a chapter it takes me about 2-3 hours depending on the number of pages. i first write down all the terms that are unfamilar to me...i'm sure there will be tons in nursing. how do you manage large amounts of reading. and then i write down everything that i think could be important...this could be complete paragraphs... yikes! how do you determine what is most important? tia, stacy
  7. Hi Malia, I think part of my challenge lies with the math. It's taken me about 3 weeks to figure out Stiochiometry...lol. I spent SOOooo much time trying to figure it out and now that I finally get it, I'm like "Duh!" How much math is involved in A&P? I do well with memorization for the most part. I haven't figured out away to incorporate flash cards in Chemistry that works well for me yet. Thanks! Stacy
  8. This is so me! I spend about 6+ hours 5 or more days a week....just on Chemistry. I think I have a B average and we're half way through the semester. I'm also taking a psy. class on line...and I am exhausted! I always feel like I'm behind and that I didn't study enough, or enough of a certain concept or area. I also have to take A&P 1 and 2. Please tell me it will be a little easier than this. I know that the nursing program is pretty rigorous. Please tell me I won't experience this type of studying/exhausting tiredness for the next 3yrs...lol. Stacy
  9. I'm taking Chemistry this semester. The course is very well laid out and a chapter outline was provided by the professor so I try to use them as pre-tests. When I sit down to do my textbook reading, I first define all the terms, writing them down helps to commit them to memory. Then I read the material, afterwards I go through it again using the study guide outline as a guide and create possible test questions and try to answer them. I try to do as much of this as possible before the lecture so that I can ask questions if I need to. I also review the notes and questions everyday, I know some people aren't able to do this everyday, but I would recommend doing it at least a few times a week. And then I study for a few hours a few days before the test. This is the first semester that I've used this method, don't know why I didn't think of this before. LOL My first Chem test I got an A :) I'm using this same study method for my Psy. class and have my first test this week so I'll see if it worked too. Hope this helps :)
  10. Hi I'm Stacy from Maryland :) I'm 25, married w/ one child who's 5. I'm taking two prereq. courses this semster and have 3 more classes to take. I hope to start the nursing program in Fall 2007.
  11. Just wanted to offer you a hug! Just know that you can do this!! But do this for you! We're here if you're feeling lonely :)
  12. Oh...I wonder if I'll need it for my course. What does it do exactly. Are you taking a 100 Chem Course? I only need one class which is like a 101 course but designed specifically for health majors. Good luck trying to get it to work. Do they have a FAQ or technical questions page on the website?
  13. Hi There, I haven't needed to yet, but I have no idea how to. I still have my manual for the calculator though. Scientific Notation is the only thing we've needed to use our calculators for so far.
  14. Thanks so much Malia! I tried your trick...I had to use superscript for scientific notation. Stacy
