I think yes. He had been with them, this is true. Now they are coming and going and have been exposed to different things than in the home while he was there.
Just think of going for coffee and having someone coughing near them. They might not get sick but could carry something to him. IMO

The patient is in isolation for his protection not to protect others from him.
Everyone should absolutely be wearing a mask whether they had previous contact with him or not to keep him from being exposed to something that could further decline his health.

I WOULD have them wear a mask, he has obviousley gotten worse since he was at home, or else he would still be at home!! So since he is in the hosp and hosp are known for germs have them mask up.
Also I always give my neutropenic patients bottled water vs the ice/ water out of the machine in the lounge. I cleaned that ice/water machine once, NASTY.

As above poster stated, the masks are for the pts protection not vice-versa.
Here's a quick article on neutropenia and why reverse isolation would be important:

Our neutropenic pts are on an low bacteria diet that includes only special bottled water. (many "regular" brands of bottled water can have higher bacteria ct than tap water.
If I were neutropenic I sure would have my visitors weart a mask, after a a vigourous 15 sec hand washing... our floor requires hand washing but not masks. Signs warn visitors with active infections to telephone, not visit.
