Maryland BSN hopefuls for Fall 2012

U.S.A. Maryland

Anyone else preparing for fall 2012? I'm such a dork about this. I've been planning every single little step of this. :lol2: I'll be submitting my university application in October/November. I'm not worried about getting accepted to the University in general because I have a 3.8 right now, provided A&P2 and micro together don't kill me. Then I'll be sitting for the A2 by January (want to finish A&P2 first) and applying to the BSN program by January/February. Unfortunately the CC I'm in doesn't offer one of the pre-reqs for the university, but I can take that over next summer.

Anyone else with similar plans?

Stevenson University..it's in Owings Mills..but it's a private school

Thanks! Was curious because I don't think I ran across that one in my research of schools.

I'm wishing all of you gals and guys the best of luck for the Fall applications :)

I know some people in Baltimore, Boston, and Orlando from school and my hometown. I'm planning to apply to nursing schools in these areas right now to make the transition of moving out of state a lot better.

Hoping for the best not only for myself, but also for everyone.

I recently noticed an update on my account in WebSURF. The admissions committee labelled my application 'committee ready.' I'm kind of nervous about having my application reviewed by the committee. I finished all of my prerequisites and volunteer hours. Right now I'm getting my CNA certification. I'm also nervous about the idea that I don't know if there is anything else I can do right now after submitting my application. (Sigh) I will have to wait for additional steps.

Has anyone else had any changes in their application status as well?

My application went 'committee ready' yesterday.

My application went 'committee ready' yesterday.

This is the status progression:

Requirements Outstanding - either something is missing or has not been matched to the application yet

Complete and ready for review - means all the paperwork is there and ready for a preliminary review to make sure all requirements have been met

Committee ready - means that the application is ready to be presented to the admissions committee - usually this status lasts the longest

Then, if an offer will be made, the status with either change to

Provisional admit - meaning the student is accepted provided their last transcripts are all grades of B or better

OR

Admit Institution - which means that the offer is made and we are waiting for the deposit and acceptance statement - when received the status changes to Accept Applicant and we will see you in the fall

OR

Waitlisted

Best of luck to you all!!!

Hello Grey Lady, The meanings of the status progressions are very helpful.

dccubano, I'm also glad to see that your status is also ready.

Wish everyone the best.

My application status is still in :"complete and ready for review". It makes me nervous.

Mine just recently updated..It actually still says complete ready for review..then their is an additional row for decision and that is where it says Committee ready..

As long as your status is Complete and Ready for Review there is no need to worry that your application package is missing anything. I am not sure why the Committee Ready status is available to be seen by you because it does not really mean anything to applicants - it is really an internal status report only used by the staff. As hard as it is, just relax and try not to even check your status this month or next.

I am sorry that this takes so long and causes such anxiety. But it takes that kind of time to do a thorough, fair and holistic evaluation of every candidate. It would be way easier to go just by GPA and leave it at that. But we think this way brings in the new students who will succeed and thrive in our program. Hope that we will see you all in August.

Thanks for the details, but there is still no "Committee Ready" in my status.
