Hi! Any Marquette hopefuls this app. cycle? I'm a little ahead of the game here but am too excited not to be =0) I'm applying to the CNM track!
I've been pretty down since the first round went out and I didn't have a coveted e-mail acceptance, but I've been telling myself that things happen for a reason and I believe God has a plan for me...so I'm trying to be open minded about things. These last few posts are certainly helping. $50,500 for the first 15 months is a Wowzer! I suppose I knew the whole program was going to be expensive though. It's still hard to look at. Also, my interest is in primary care and my first choice would be pediatrics but I'm on the fence between that and adult because of job prospects. I was looking foward to continuing the MSN portion on a full time basis while working part time, but I've been reading more and more about how that may not be an option... Maybe I'm just trying to focus on some negative aspects to lessen the blow if I don't make it...
yeah, wow! $50,500?! Last time I had checked it was $48,000 for the first 15 months. (Not like that's much cheaper..ha)! But should I receive a spot I think I would still definitely take the opportunity. Even though it's expensive I just keep telling myself it'll pay off in the end. Becoming a NP is what I know I want to do, and loving what I do means more to me than the incurred cost of getting there (or even the pay I'll receive doing it). Though I agree with sunnyd_83 that it's still tough to see that cost! The other program I'm applying to is really expensive as well, but I wouldn't get an MSN by the end of it like I would in this program. I'm really crossing my fingers for all of us who are waiting!!
I was wondering that also, MissHolland. I have a feeling they will wait until the 28th to send out the next wave. Unless they already have a complete ordered list of applicants set up, they may need that extra time to determine who will receive the spots that open up. That's just my guess, though!

Sometimes I wish I had focused my goal statement on general nursing instead of so much on midwifery. Over the past few months, with research, I've decided that NP could be for me as well! Hoping it isn't to my detriment to have focused so much on the most popular track! Great info., wpolorocker!
