What is your take on the issue of legalizing marijuana?
hmmm.. then by that standard, it's someone else's business if you break laws against sodomy, huh? whose business is that?i'm not sure what sex acts these laws cover, but i'm sure i'm guilty if i enjoyed it :)
You are sure wrapped up in sodomy . .. :)
Ok, there are some inane laws on the book like not being able to ride your bike on a Saturday . . ... .but taking the most inane and not enforced laws vs. being under the influence of a substance that can impair your judgment doesn't seem like the same thing to me.

Me too . .. . just a few times though. I didn't like the feeling . .. .it was like you were watching a movie and every other section of the film was missing. Too weird. You'd be "there" and then "not there" and then "there" and "not there" . . . .

well from the dawn of time man has been smoking weed (herbs) w/e they called it then because it's been there. i'm all for smoking a spliff if ur not hurting anyone, my B/F is an accountant who graduated magna and has been smoking since his teens, I on the other can't stand the meer smell of it so i kindly ask him to take his lazy bum outside. my dad, who owns his own business has smoked for lord only knows how long and my mum doesn't like it but she doesn't care as long as he is home and does it outside by the pool or when he's exercising the dog so as not to intoxicate her or the baby. my point here is that not only hoodlums and gangsters smoke weed and that it truly is a personal choice that will be debated until we are all dead and gone, technology has rendered people completely beside themselves as to with what nature has to offer, plenty of doctor's will prescribe painkillers but not weed b/c of side effects?? please these meds have some of the worst side effects ever. let's all just be like Bob and smoke a spliff before bed and call it a day, if governments have such a problem with it, do it like they do EVERYTHING else tax and line the pockets of politicians. let's all be IRIE
if someone wants to smoke a joint to relax and reflect, it's his/her right.
As I'm sure someone else has said, blazing up a fat J is illegal, therefore not a right, but I don't even care about that. What is it with society that we need some sort of chemical intake in order to cope with life, be it alcohol, MJ, ativan, valium, cocaine, etc. How 'bout trying meditation, exercise, reading a book, or watching a movie, all of which have no adverse affect on your lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, brain, etc.? Are people unable to deal with life on their own any more? It's quite unfortunate.

That is a very good point.

Boy, you got that right! I remember being taught that sacrifice and pain (emotional or physical, sometimes both) were unavoidable in life. Nowadays we've done a complete 180 culturally, which is equally erroneous--we now are taught that we never have to suffer, never have to sacrifice, never have to deal with emotional or physical pain.
Both premises have a few grains of truth to them.
And by "sacrifice" I mean that I know a couple of women who'd be terrific nurses but don't want to deal with making the sacrifices necessary for nursing school--things like that. I'm not advocating martyrdom or heroics here by any means.

just pointing out the absurdity of it being someone else's business because "it's against the law". so that argument only applies when you want it to apply (to marijuana)?
yeah, and sodomy can be a blast! :)

hmmmm... know where i can get any weed like that?
According to the evidence of some of my friends in nursing, long term heavy pot use caused loss of mental acuity. At least they found them selves having difficulty calculating dosages. So harmless its not.
and i suppose long term heavy alcohol use wouldn't do that? how many people in nursing homes are there for alcohol related dementia? they're jam packed with people suffering from that. and how many are there for marijuana related dementia? (i don't know of even one).
