Maricopa Waiting List / Placement / Timestamps 2010+

U.S.A. Arizona

Hey everyone, I wanted to start a place for people to post and repost about waitlist times, placement runs, and their timestamps.

It is very hard searching for all the information and maybe people will access this thread and keep it updated with information so we all can get some idea on where we stand in line for Maricopa Nursing Placement.

As for me I have a

6/11/10 8:01:32 Timestamp. The placement just ran on March 6th,2012 and I was not placed. On the application website it says that the placement did NOT reach the June timestamps. This will mark 5 semesters that I was not placed (was expecting a 3 semester wait)

I am curious how far the placement ran. If people that were placed during the last placement run (3/6/12) come across this thread and would be willing to post their timestamp and what school choice number (1 through 5) they were placed in that would give an indicator how far away it is.

With almost 2500 people still on the waiting list it looks like it can be a 4-5 year wait for people just now getting on it. :(

Look forward to chatting with all of you and good luck.

You only need one fingerprint clearance card. It is the same one for the wait list.
ok thank you! background was cleared today and I had titers drawn on Tuesday. Just waiting on Orientation now :))

Has anyone received information on starting Spring 2015? Specifically, at SCC? I submitted my confirmation of intent on the 11th (due the 14th) and have not received anything. I can't log into the Application Status page anymore either.

I would call. I'm attending SCC. I got the background code on my status page and received a letter stating the dates for the registion session. Which is this Monday 27th and tues The letter also included the health documentation check list.

I just now received my acceptance into SCC Spring 2015. It's kind of short notice so I may need to defer till the fall. Can anyone explain to me how to do so, and does anyone know if it is guaranteed to be selected again the following semester

This is on the acceptance letter. There is a confirmation of intent letter. Instead of selecting to accept the placement, there is a check box to defer the placement. There is no guarantee that you would be selected again next run, but it is highly likely that you would.

Dumb question, but I can't find a list of supplies on the Maricopa nursing site (or anywhere). Do we need our own stethoscope? Can it be any color? Amazon is having a pretty awesome deal on Littman's right now AND has a coupon for $5 off of that and the burgandy one is the cheapest by far at $34.95 after the coupon.

I thought that was a decent price for off-brand scopes, but Amazon has some for $6 also..

Yes you do. I don't remember them saying anything about the color.

You will get a supply list in your orientation packet or at your orientation meeting. But basically, you will need:

-Stethoscope

-All white or all black closed toe and closed heel shoes (except they do allow clogs with a heel strap instead of a back)

-Uniform scrubs that can be purchased at apparel pro in tempe. Some schools require or the pre embroidered scrubs, some will allow for you to get any scrubs in Caribbean blue as long as you get them embroidered the the MCCCD logo. I go to SCC and they allow any style scrub in the right color with embroidery.

-black pens, black sharpie, yellow highlighter

Thats basically it for required supplies.

Suggested supplies:

-a pen light, you will get one in your lab kit, but it is kind of chincy and breaks easily

-If you have never done manual BP, then get a BP cuff to practice at home (you get some lab time with them, but not much)

-For your shoes, go for quality. It will matter when you get to the 12 hours shifts of block 2 and up.

-Bandage scissors, there never seem to be any available in clinical because the nurses and aids all bring their own and wash after each use

There's probably other stuff people could suggest, but thats the basics

Thanks!! My orientation is January 15th but I found out they don't care what color stethoscope we have at PVCC. They have used scrubs for sale but I need to check back in when winter break is over to see if they have any in my size.

I will look for a manual BP cuff because I have no experience with that! Thanks for the tip. And bandage scissors.

Are dansko's the most comfortable/highest quality? Where's a good store in the Phoenix metro area that sells good quality shoes?

Thank you so much! I'm pretty excited.

Hi everyone! Congratulations to all who got placed this coming year! I just got into the Pool December 5, 2014. Is it insane to think I have a chance at getting into the Fall 2015 CEP program? I am attending the application session in February 2015. The advisor I spoke to felt like I had a good chance at getting in with my scores and gpa and I will be taking oral communication class this spring to get my aa and graduate in May 2015 with my AA. So that will help my points.

If you are applying to CEP I would think you are likely to get in next fall as long as your GPA and Hesi scores are decent. They have said the CEP program is not as popular now so there are a lot of spots.

Wow! Really? I wonder why. With the cep, you don't have to wait. Well fingers are crossed. Thank you for replying! Good luck in all your nursing endeavors!!!
