Maricopa Waiting List / Placement / Timestamps 2010+
Yep, I was told by a nursing advisor this month that the wait is about a year now! Whether that means you would be starting block 1 a year from applying or being accepted into block 1 a year from applying I do not know. Either way, the wait has decreased a lot!

Just looking back on this thread it looks like people started to hear the first week of March. Good luck!

How do you feel about professors locking the door?
I'm a very punctual person and I'm always at least 10 minutes early to anything I'm supposed to be doing. If I got locked out of lecture after a break, after I was already there on time I would be pissed. Sometimes bathroom breaks can take a bit longer than we wish they would, so she should lose that hour of lecture? Locked out without any of her things? And on top of that feels she was actually there 2 minutes before the break was supposed to be over? Sorry but that's BS. I'd understand the beginning of class lockout for people who were actually late to class but after that if you are just taking breaks then leave it open, if someone is always coming in late for every single break then yes it is the professors job to pull them aside and tell them to knock it off, not their job to lock people out who were just using the restroom.

Thanks for the feedback, I totally missed the part about the non-federal. I do also plan to apply for scholarships though so June is not an option for me to file that late!

Yea the more I've looked into it everything says the sooner you apply the more aid you can get. So better safe than sorry, I need all the aid I can get! FAFSA Tips and Common Mistakes to Avoid When Applying for Student Aid | EMCC

Hmmm I don't know still, the article in az central (I think it was) said to get your maximum aid amount you should apply before March. I'm going to have to follow up with the advisor to be sure because I need the maximum aid amount I can get!

I was under the impression (perhaps I'm wrong) that the sooner you apply your fafsa the better chance you have of getting aid? A person who applies in June or July could be risking that the school has already given out all the grants they can?

Laptops for online school
I just got an acer aspire switch 10 and love it. It's compact but not too small and the touch screen is nice. I also sometimes use it in tablet form of I'm just using it to read something at home.

Anti-vax nurses? Are you serious?
Vaccines are not 100% effective but that doesn't mean they 0% effectiveness either...my son had two doses of varicella vaccine (99% effective) my daughter had one dose (80% effective) and they both caught chicken pox from somewhere. My son had two, just TWO pox on him. My daughter had a few on her lower body. Thank god they had their vaccine or their cases would've been much worse. If you knew anything about vaccines you would know that the science behind it doesn't say "once your vaccinated, no worries!" The science is that we need everyone that possibly can get vaccinated to actually DO SO to keep these diseases from occurring.

Maricopa Waiting List / Placement / Timestamps 2010+
I am not eligible for CEP yet as I don't have all the pre reqs for any of the universities to be able to apply (and still unsure if I want to start that right away or wait til block 3 or after graduation) My time stamp is August 2014 but the nursing advisor has told me the wait is basically down to 1 year now so even though I'm not positive I'll be placed for fall I want to be prepared.

Question about the fafsa...should one select all the colleges on their fafsa that are their choices on the wait list since you don't know which one you'll get into? I've only ever had to fill it out for one school at a time because I always knew where I'd be going but now I have 4 different colleges on my wait list options so should I choose them all on my fafsa until we hear for placement and then just decline the ones I don't end up needing? Thanks for any feedback!

Anti-vax nurses? Are you serious?
I vaccinate my two kids, they are both up to date on the schedule however in their infant years when they were to receive more than two vaccines at a time, we chose to spread them out. So they'd get a vaccine and we'd come back a couple weeks later for whatever they still needed. We did so out of caution of an adverse reaction which I know is rare. I feel like this would be a good compromise for people who are worried about the reactions or "overloading" the system, I get the caution for these reasons but I don't understand not getting them at all. I also have a unique experience because both my kids ended up with chicken pox this last fall despite being vaccinated! My son had both rounds which they say is 99% effective and my daughter had one round (didn't have her second yet) which is supposed to be 80% I believe. Well the dr and NP were both skeptical (we saw two) but the conclusion was chicken pox! My son had literally two pox, my daughter had multiple but nothing like from my childhood when it was normal for kids to have it. Thankfully they both had real mild cases and weren't very much bothered by it, for which I am so thankful they had their vaccine for it! Now having had that experience I do worry about their exposure to other diseases despite them being vaccinated. I know that just because they got the chicken pox doesn't mean they'll get the measles despite their vaccines but it crosses my mind! I really don't understand people who choose to not vaccinate at all without a true solid reason like allergies to the vaccine itself. It angers me.
