aint sure if there is already an existing march 2011 test takers' support group. nonetheless, i ought to just create one.. study tips and advices, as well as encouragement, motivation, support, and prayers from each and everyone of us may play a big role in our preparation for this battle. let's all be rn's!! good luck to us!! may the good lord be with us all in our way to passing the nclex!!
hey Guys,i don't know if it is anxiety, but i was taking the last qtrainer from kaplan and everything seem foreign, even the stuff i know.
i am now wondering if this is a good sign or i am just stressing too much.
same for me.... the first q trainer were kind of familiar too and when im on the 6th even though i knew i read the topic i was having a hard time answering the questions... and when i realize that i do not know the question i am stressing out and the following questions will be hard as well. i'll just take a deep breath and close my eyes for a minute and proceed...

Thank you for sharing your study plan tips. I am getting nervous because my test is in three weeks.
I have been doing 100 questions a day in NCLEX 3500, reading one chapter of saunders a day, then read LaCharity book according to the chapter I read in Saunders. Do you think I should get the NCSBN for more tougher questions or core content?

It sounds like you are doing an awesome job with your study plan. I would say tha if you wanted to do some more complex questions you can get the Kaplan book from your local library (to save $$$) and do the questions on the CD. I have never personally had any experience with the NCSBN. My boyfriend has his BSN and stated that its not really good. Also I have seen some posts where students states the questions are a bit wordy. On the other hand some like it . So its all about what works for you. I can honesly say the question length on the Boards were short and straight to the point... Mostly two sentence questions... and a few 3 sentence questions, Good Luck and thanks for the congrats !!!!!! Stay focused, determined and calm and you will be a
Congrats notsosupernurse!
My license number finally showed up yesterday morning on the state board site, so I am officially a RN !!!! I went today to get the pre-employment drug screen and physical for my new job. Sooooo excited but terrified at the same time.

i live in california and they dont offer that QUICK RESULT thing people are talking about....
AHHHHHHH!!!!!.....
I took the exam yesterday at 08:00. Did the trick which worked. I thought I would have to wait until Monday to get the early results from PearsonVue but just checked the Ohio BON website & I passed! The support from this group has been great - as a British-trained RN, I felt out of my depth with the American system, but it helped to read everybody else's feedback. I used Saunders & did the Kaplan review course. I think what helped me the most was that I did thousands of questions - all the Kaplan questions plus as many Saunders questions as I could. GOOD LUCK to everyone else who's taking the exam this month!

I did it . I went to the Florida Nursing site and verified that I did Indeed Pass ! I am so happy and elated I cannot believe it. I felt like I guessed the whole way through the entire exam.Apparently I passed with Flying colors so that is definitely a treat and relief..

I remember earlier on I stated If I passed I would post exactly what my study plan consisted of, Here Goes :
I set my date 3 weeks away and set up an intense study plan. The first two weekends I did the classroom anywhere online with Kaplan . I did question trainers 1-7, printed the rationales to the questions I got wrong and studied them intermittently when I had a chance. I also answered 100% of the Q Bank Questions. My final Q Bank Score was a 62 % and my question trainer scores ranged from a 56-68 %. I bought the Saunders Book but did not have much time to use it I must have answered about 75-100 questions out of that. I bought the Lacharity Book and did the Cardio, Resipratory, Infection Control, Pain, and Maternity chapters. I did not do any of the case studies in the LaCharity or any of the other chapters. The two weeks before the board I answered at least 150-200 Qbank Questions a Day. I felt tempted to memorize all of the acroynyms such as spiderman and etc... But did not have the time to do it as I my plate was full and I worked a full time job 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. I also studied the day before my exam,I couldn't fathom taking a break the day before.
My Exam:
I had 14 SATA and did not have any fill in the blank, audio , or drag and drops. I was given 2 peds 1 maternity and 2 calculation questions. There was alot of "Who would you see first" , I had one float nurse question, and a whole lotta med surg. Lot's of questions on Cushings, Addisons, and Pancreatitis .
I was allowed to bring my own airplugs and use them but they were offered at the test site. The room was really cold. They will allow you to wear a sweater in the testing room but not a jacket. You can have a break only after the first two hours so think twice before drinking a 16 oz cup of Joe like I DID before the test. ( NOT GOOD ). I really took it slow. I made sure to read all of my question 2-3 times before selecting an answer ( This is what worked for me ) . I took two hours and and the computer shut off after 75 questions.
After the exam I had a deer in headlights affect going on. None of the questions were content questions. However, I wish that I would have reviewed my content a little more. There were a few questions where I could not recall some of the content asked as I would have liked to.
Good luck to all and If you have any questions ... Feel free to message me! Thanks to everyone for your support.
PS : The Pearson Vue Trick "Good Pop Up" was Accurate for me
