A thread for all those in March who are planning to take the NCLEX offering both support and any hints or tips that help
Good luck to all
Hey guys,
I know we are all anxious and stressed! I'm trying lately to use positive thinking. Instead of focusing on how much I have to pass this exam and what I'll do if I fail, I'm trying to think about how great it'll feel when I do pass and can write that RN behind my name.
I'm scheduled for Feb 18th but I think I might try to bump up my testing date to the first week in Feb. if I feel comfortable by the end of January. I'm also in the middle of moving so I am trying to study and do quizzes while packing! Let me know if I can help anyone~
Keep your chin up!

This is a more current list. I still need time to really perk it up. if anyone as any ideas/suggestions let me know. I will add color and stuff to it soon.
what do you guys think of doing a question a day? i think it is ok as long as we site our source. i could be wrong. or how about just posting a question or topic of the day to discuss. for example, someone may want to talk about CHF, they may need to brush up on nursing interventions, labs, meds, complications, etc. let me know what you guys think:idea:
Good Morning Future Nurses :flowersfo,
Graduated from LPN program Dec 07. Applied to NCLEX and our state board one month ago. I have heard back from NCLEX, but nothing from state. Can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes for them to give you a test date? It makes me worry that I've done something wrong on the application.
I have been working on Suzanne's first tip and hope to test in March. Feel like I've forgotten more than I learned in the month since graduation. So glad to have found this thread, need to stay motivated and get serious about studying.
Ya'll have a great day,
Sippy
Hi Miss JKm,
Great Idea!!...:yelclap: I am all for it... it would be a good way to revise and also get to know strategies and rationales too...how do you want to go about it?? Any suggestions or ideas?? I see a lot of us are using the Suzanne plan and some of us.. Kaplan... how about following a chapter wise revision.. so say like today is Jan 15th..so you could post that everybody revises the lab values and then everyone posts whatever they feel like sharing , or ask questions on lab values then we could do med surg/paeds/maternity etc.. just my

Don't think they will give you a test date. You will receive ATT from pearsonvue once your BON ok's your application and once you have your ATT you arrange your own date
igiminor-i am glad you like the idea. i like yours too. if we do review by chapters, kaplan is great i think. there text is divided into the major categories that are tested on nclex. i have a few notes that i jot down when i dont know something or get an answer wrong. we could share notes too. i dont know where to start though. i remember somethng that might be helpful....
this is in relation to assigning patients to lvn, na, float, nurse
lvn- should be assigned a stable patient with predictable outcomes
na- should be assigned standard unchanging procedures
float rn- should be assigned an lvn's assignment when working on f loating. (ie, maternity nurse floating to med/surg)
rn- always soley responsible for assessment, monitoring, teaching and nursing judgement. these things can never be delegated.
any questions????? feel free to add examples and other notes, or whatever????
miss jkm -maybe you can add or subtract...
this is in relation to assigning patients to lvn, na, float, nurse
lvn- should be assigned a stable patient with predictable outcomes-[color=#595959]they usually report directly to physicians and rns, and are usually responsible for taking vitals and monitoring in-and-out volumes, treating common like bedsores, and preparing or performing several procedures such as dressing wounds, bathing and dressing, and giving enemas.
na- should be assigned standard unchanging procedures[color=#595959]nursing aides, also known as nursing assistants, geriatric aides, unlicensed assistant personnel, or hospital attendants, perform routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. they answer patients' call bells, deliver messages, serve meals, make beds, and help patients eat, dress, and bathe. aides also may provide skin care to patients; take temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; and help patients get in and out of bed and walk. they also may escort patients to operating and examining rooms, keep patients' rooms neat, set up equipment, store and move supplies, or assist with some procedures. aides observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing or medical staff.-
float rn- should be assigned an lvn's assignment when working on f loating. (ie, maternity nurse floating to med/surg)
rn- always soley responsible for assessment, monitoring, teaching and nursing judgement. these things can never be delegated.[color=#595959]. they are the primary point of contact between the patient and the world of health care, both at the bedside and in out-patient settings. rns perform frequent patient evaluations, including monitoring and tracking vital signs, performing procedures such as iv placement, phlebotomy, and administering medications. because the rn is much more regular contact with patients than are physicians, the rn is usually first to notice problems or raise concerns about patient progress.[color=#595959] rns also develop the day-to-day nursing care plans both in hospital, and for care after discharge by families and visiting nurses.
any questions????? feel free to add examples and other notes, or whatever????
