I'll be testing in April as well. :) I've joined this support group for the time being. They are amazingly helpful and smart, so you'll get a lot of support here. But like Silverdragon said, we could start our own thread. :)

hello mave! yeah..we could start our own thread but then..sad to say i dont know how a support group works..teehee* (embarrased) anyhow...i hope we could get support here too =)

HELLO EVERYONE!! i just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your help!! i'm new to this forum, but just wanted to say what a relief it is to have support. (emotionally, as well as w/ studying! LOL). i don't get much help from others regarding nursing, so i find this site a blessing from god! =P btw, i wanted to ask..... i originally wanted to take the nclex-pn in april, but since they're making the changes, i'm aiming for end of march. do u guys think i have enough time to study? i started reviewing at the beginning of feb just to warm up since i took some time off, so i'm not sure if i should put it off. like many of u out there, i just want to take it & GET IT OVER WITH!!! i also just want to see how it is. i've been reading saunders, nclex-pn made easy, kaplan (test strategy) & most of all trying to do 100 prac questions/rationales a day. i'm also planning on getting the q bank from kaplan. any other crammers out there? LOL. i just don't want to feel like i'm rushing myself.....

:hpygrp: Welcome Mrstip905... as far as your studies it is pretty much individual based... you have to go by what you learned in school to how self disciplined you are with your studies... I felt I learned more studying for NCLEX than I did in school!!! I got my paperwork Jan 12th and took my NCLEX Feb 7th... so close to 4 weeks I studied.. I have the same materials as you and then some... I was only scoring 53% on Kap Q bank which had me really anxious .. I almost rescheduled... overall I studied every single day.. sometimes up to 12 hours a day w breaks in between. I didnt do a review prep and I didnt do HESI.. I took it on myself and NCLEX computer turned off @ 86.. still awaiting results... this thread is awesome and even though I was a feb test taker.. everyone here helped out and when I was taking breaks I would come here... good luck whatever you decide ...:heartbeatJulz

Welcome to the new members of the group...:yeah:

hello future nurses!! heartjulz, thnx for your tip. i'm aiming to take the nclex-pn at the end of march, so i need all the help i can get since i just started reviewing last week! AUGH! if you guys don't mind, i'd like to join your review group. where are you at? i think i read someone post about respiratory, but not sure if you all left off at musculo. i'm actually doing maternity right now... we just did it this past weekend at our nclex review at skool, so i'll be sure to post some notes tom.

heartjulz, i knoe what u mean about kaplan. i got the book on how to take the nclex & just reading it makes me so overwhelmed!! i actually thought i was doing ok until i got that book. now i'm second guessing buying the kaplan test online cuz they make me feel like i don't know anything! i dunno, i knoe it helped alot of ppl pass...... i think for now i'll just stick to saunders & my nclex pn made easy books!! =P

In other words, all penicillin, penicillin derivatives (i.e., Amoxicillin) and cephalosporin antibiotics (especially first generation agents such as Keflex) should be avoided. --taken from----http://www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/8696.htm
