I am a mother of four and start this spring.I am hoping that with the chaos in my house that I will be able to do it all.I have the want and need in my heart and in my head I know that I am capable of doing this.How hard was it with a family for the rest of you.:confused:

I'm a mother of three childern one of them diagnosed with ADD, the other with ADHD, so far my youngest doesn't have either thank god. My time is very limited with my husband and childern, and it's hard too find a place quite enough to study, and to find someone to take the childern for a couple of hours so that I can.

I have been studying really hard and keep my goal in mind when I don't feel that I can make it anymore. Alot of the times I just want to lay down and sleep but I can't I have other jobs that need to be done including a part time job at a nursing home. But I am making it. I have a 3.0 GPA and intend on maintaining it.So good luck in your schooling and if you want something bad enough you'll get it.

Mommy here! It is very tough, but I wouldn't wish for anything else. My family motivates me. I have a wonderful husband, but he's not home to help right now with our two terrific children. Some days are harder than others and most days I want to quit. BUT....I still get up each morning and put one foot in front of the other! I have faith that someday this will all pay off. {I have a Mustang Cobra to buy!:D }

Hi all!

I'm a mother of 3 aged 9, 7 & 4.

I also work every other evening and have a wonderful husband

who is also killing himself by doing more :)

All tests that I've received so far were all graded with an A.

It won't be easy, I study and finish homework & assignments during all of my spares at college.

I let the laundry go (but now my husband has caught up with it) and usually do that on the weekends while the kids are playing with friends.

I also got myself a mini recorder and recorded all important notes for different subjects on it so that I may review without actually having a book in front of me.

On nights I don't work, I study after the kids have gone to bed.

My house is a little messier, but everything is going as well as it possibly can for the time being. It's stressful, yes, but it's worth it and I also make sure I get plenty of sleep, because I can't function without a good nights rest, so that also means on some nights I'm in bed no later than 9 PM and I wake up anywhere from 4:30-5:30 AM.

Good luck to you and make sure that you manage your time

appropriately and everything else will fall into place.

But I've got to hand it to yall! To go to nursing school and raise kids is something else! Keep up the good work!! --Tim

I have three small children, 5, 3, and almost 1... and 2 stepkids, 15 and 18. We homeschool during the day, and I do most of my studying late at night or early in the morning.. hence my current 4 am posting. :) My littlest one usually takes one nap a day, so I alternate that as study time and clean up time.

Yes, the house looks like heck... so we're building a new one.. which WILL come with a (twice weekly) maid. LOL I hope. :roll :roll I kept forgetting things.... so I bought a PDA. I don't forget anything now, since it beeps at me. :)

Fortunately, I only have one more semester that I will need to be a full-time student. I am SOOO looking forward to Christmas break where I can just relax and not think about a paper or a test. I still spend as much time with the kids as I did before school, I'm just a little crankier now. I have to catch up on my sleep too.......

I started with two kids. Now I have five, work full time and am knee deep in my gradate program. If I can do it, anyone can as long as your motivated..............is not easy......

I started LPN school at 40, with 4 kids, the youngest was only 2. Just finished RN school still have 4 kids now they are 20,18,16 and 11. I spent years worrying that my kids suffered so that I could go to school. Know what, at my graduation in May the three oldest cried with pride and the youngest drew a picture and wrote in his journal for school that he was "proud of my Mom cause she worked so hard in school and now she is a nurse., which I don't understand because she was a nurse before after she went to school before when I was a baby. I learned how to do homework from my Mom because we did it together and now I'm good at homework" My oldest daughter took me out to dinner to celebrate and she picked up the check. Our kids don't pay as high a price as we think they do. It's funny, our kids see our goal, watch us work toward it, offer encouragement, and celebrate our achievements with us AND they learn about commitment, hard work, and success. Who cares if the dust bunnies are breading under the bed? We have more important things to do, like give our children an example to follow. Stick with it, I went to school full time, worked full time, parented 4 great kids, volunteered at school, and still got B's in school. You'll do it too.

I started nursing when my kids were 5 and 4. Now they are 33 and 32, and now I am a grandmother. Don't give up.
