I think 8 hours may be overkill. I think you'd be better off studying in much smaller chunks. Do 45 mins, take a break then do another 45 mins. Take a longer break & then maybe do 30 mins.
Only you know how long you're going to need as far as content stuff goes but overdoing it is as bad as underdoing it. Carry on with Suzanne4's method, as you are, but take it a bit easier - I'm sure I remember her saying not to do too many hours because your brain just won't take it all in.
Once you're through that - which should take about 6 weeks - then look at Kaplan to hone your critical thinking skills.
Good luck & relax!!! All work & no play etc etc etc!

One hour a day for two months. I think I used a Mosby NCLEX book. Passed the first try.

Only you can determine how long you can last in one sitting. I personally find that doing questions/ tests in the morning and rationales at night works.
truely I did about 2000 questions in may and june! july I was just so stressed about where my ATT was I couldn't study. so the month before my exam I did No questions
honestly alot of my friends and I are of the idea that there is no way to prepare for the NCLEX. It's all about the mindset you are in when you take the test! if I might suggest that you DO AS MANY PRIORITY QUESTIONS as possible. this comming from someone who had 265! I had ALOT of priority questions!
Also Jsut remember if your score is about 60-70% correct then you are good to go with NCLEX. when I heard that I was like "are you sure?" but it's true!

2-3 hrs a day (45 min-1 hr chunks) for about 3 weeks. Used Saunders, lippencott and Meds Pub. I then took 3 days off to party in Charleston SC, last day, a light reveiw on ABGs and Lab values. Passed with 163 questions. Not great but it worked for me.
You should really know most of the content already, just make sure you know ABGs, Lab values, and test taking stratagies, oh and pray alot...
Good luck.
