This is fun!I work L&D -
-Babies don't sleep
-Moms don't sleep
(the DADS seem to sleep okay however)
-Laboring women don't sleep
-emergency C-sections sleep for a while afterwards
-Stupid people who call with questions at 2 am about a condition they've had for 2 weeks don't seem to sleep
But hey, other than that, it's pretty quiet.
OMG I just caught this one......LOL. SOOO dayummm true!!!!
Sassy LOL Love it!!!
We are pretty much the same as L/D...what is it with these people that wander all hours of the night and dare come in and have babies that need to come to us? Dang....I wanted to finish my book tonight, I need to return it to the library!
Oh and I have to write report because the day person has a doctor's appointment and is going to be 2 hours late...hey, why can't I take advantage of that little perk?
Oh, I love the shift wars...makes life oh so much more interesting. :rotfl:
I will be starting night shift very soon. This job has mandatory meetings 1-3 times a week. All of these meetings are scheduled for 2pm. What has been your experiences with night shift and mandatory meetings? I think it is ridiculous. How am I suppose to get any sleep? Thanks
Last year I went from supervisor to staff development. I have worked as a CNA for 9 years and now as an RN for 5. I have worked all three shifts..and tried to attend meetings and inservices at different times of the day. What I do now is .. have several different times to have meeting/ inservices to go over the "important" things. Ex: I will go in at 1am or 7am to see the 11-7 shift.. or 2pm or 10 pm to get the evening shift. It seems to work alot better getting everyone the information that they need. Otherwise, if its just a "monthly meeting" or a fyi inservice.. I scheldule it at 230pm
talk to your staff dev. person.. maybe they can make some changes.
