Malpractice Insurance

Just asking for a rough estimate.

Do you all have through your district or did you have to get your own policy? I know many of us have insurance IN ADDITION to their district coverage but was getting your own required for district employment?

My school will not cover me for malpractice - so I pay $109/yearly to NSO.

That's like $9 a month. About the cost of one super duper coffee mocha latte frappe with a cherry on top!

For 35+ years, never worked without my own insurance. NEVER EVER!!!

Not needed for employment in a hospital,but required for perdiem home care ,I have always carried my own anyway since school.

Also important to say that one should get insurance before one needs it...because it will be hard to insure a nurse with a pending complaint. My $109 buys me a lot of peace of mind.

Since I pretty much TRUST NOONE but myself, and HR is NOT your friend, Yes I have my own! It is thru Locton, the recommended one on NASN.
