Married Male Nursing Students

Nursing Students Male Students

Any of you guys married nursing students? I am, and there are some "being surrounded by females" issues to deal with...My wife has been great the whole way through, but she follows me so closely now that it is driving me crazy!...How is it for you?

i'm a male whose going into nursing.. i'd say my wife has been pretty good so far about it!

I was to call a male colleague at home one time and asked him to tell his wife I would be calling because I didn't want to start any trouble. He told me not to worry because his wife was used to all his work friends being women. I guess wives get used to this over time.

Specializes in Cardiac.

I dont think my wife has a problem with any of my classmates. We always had parties and hung out but my wife is fairly attractive and the women in my class....not so much :)

My wife is pretty cool about the whole thing, but I haven't started actual nursing school yet as I have 2 pre-reqs left to go. I'm wondering if things will be different when it's me, one other dude, and scads of young co-eds! Meh, she doesn't have to worry. I don't have the energy to cheat!

Specializes in Critical Care, Trauma.

My wife has been 100% supportive and 100% trust in me... I have some classmates that have my number and such... if you have time to cheat you either shouldn't need to study because you are good or your not so smart and should take up another career... as a nurse you will be dealing with all aged females...

I just got accepted and I'm not married, but we've been together 5 years and up until now she's been pretty good with everything. I am curious to see how she does now that it's the real deal. Where it's chicks chicks and more chicks for lab groups/study groups/etc. However, I've never cheated and I never will

Specializes in I can take BP!! lol.

I'm married (9 years) two kids, and my wife can be a very jealous person....yet she has been nothing but supportive of my efforts to return to school, even though she knows there will be lots of young girls all around me. I think that by now either she knows I love her and I will not cheat.............or worse.........she doesn't care.... lol

I've been married for five years and am just about to wrap up my second semester. So far there have been no problems but that may be because I don't really associate with most of my classmates outside of class/study group.

I was just slumming... find this interesting, because my husband is the one worried. I on the other hand am generally oblivious to the fact that someone may be interested. I do however always make friends better with guys than gals. Should be interesting when I start in Aug ... 6 hrs away from home for Mon - Fri every week :nurse:

I graduate with my RN Thurday. I have worked for three years as a LVN so I've had some experience working in a predominately female setting. My wife is also a RN. She used to half joke about all the girls in class wanting me and how I would get in with one of my classmates and divorce her as soon as I got done. Apparently a guy did that in her RN school. I initially blew it off as a joke but she had some real concern. I just reassured her that I had too much time and money invested in her so I couldn't run off with anybody else, especially a student. They don't make any money.:D She became ok with it but still jokes about which girlfriend are you talking to now when I talk to a classmate on the phone. One of my friends did tell me that her husband got jealous about her texting me all the time until she showed him the texts. Lots of sexy talk about care maps and whats going to be on the next test.

There were some beautiful chicks my classes

25 year old, married. No problems yet. 4 men to 40 women in my class. I just try to remind my wife how special she is. One of my best friends in the program (engaged female) did have a problem with her fiancee not liking her having a close male friend.
