What is your vote?

Should a male nurse wearing a scrub top and has chest hair be required to wear a T shirt underneath in order to cover up the chest hair?

Just a couple of observations here.

In the poll , the word "required". How can such a thing be required? Requested maybe, suggested yes, required?

Can such a "requirement" be considered discriminatory? Seems so to me. One could make a lot of money sueing over such a requirement (According to a civil liberty lawyer friend of mine).

I think an employer has a right to make a t-shirt a required part of the uniform.

Even if they don't, this is just a friendly poll....

I've always worn a tee shirt under scrubs, but I don't think it should be required.

I think that a shirt should be worn only if the chest hair is so copious that some might fall in to a patients jello or somthing.

i think men should wear a shirt 1) it looks better, 2) stops little, black curly hairs from landing wear they shouldn't. however, it's a huge peeve of mine to see the lace pattern of a nurses bra through her shirt. i never go without an undershirt (wife-beaters, no sleeves poking out).

Sorry, I just could not vote. In fairness to the men, unless we are covering up all body hair AND we require women to wear T-shirts under their scrubs I don't think its fair to make them wear a T-shirt, chest hair or no chest hair.

For those worried about chest hair falling in a patient's food, think about the nurses with long hair who do not have their hair up...or those who do not shave their pits (and I have seen it long enough to braid)...nothing worse than fishing a long hair out of someone's cream of tomato soup!

Unless a facility has a strict dress code and applies it to one and all, to make one group of people do one thing and exclude others seems discriminatory.

I voted FOR a t-shirt.

Makes the fantasy of undressing them last longer....:p

Do you girls really worry about a mans chest hairs hanging out of his scrub top?

This is exactly the kind of petty BS I was hoping to avoid. Thankfully many here understand the nature of such juvenile fascinations. I really never thought about it but I always wore a T-shirt. I'm thinking that a few chest hairs are insignificant when compared to the trivial "Awwwwww" attitudes of my co-workers the alleged professionals.

I said I'd send in a photo of my chest hair and I'm following through on the threat! Here's a picture of me taken a few (many) years ago!

OMG! I darn near spit my water all over the monitor, don't do that to me, LMAO!!!!!! Your posts cracked me up, your darling "woman" is lucky, furball or not:rotfl:

BTW, I voted for no t-shirt. I am too darn hot at night without one, why would I make a man wear one? Although, I will say it was required when I worked in corrections for the women.

...or those who do not shave their pits (and I have seen it long enough to braid)...

Ewww :stone

I am more concerned with the bountiful amount hair on my back/neck sticking out more than anything.

There's no way a simple T-shirt can tame my man-sweater. Nope, I have to wear something with a high collar, otherwise I and the velcro on the b/p cuffs get all tangled up...it's ugly, trust me.

We recently added 'specifics' to our "all hair must be covered" rule. Chest hair was included.

What about facial hair?
