Malcolm X College Nursing 2018

Have you applied? Have you heard anything? Do you have some helpful information to share?

Well that's a relief. Not sure why I was thinking they wanted people to get the 2016/2017 vaccine haha.

Yeah, I assumed the urinalysis was the drug test, but you never know... I was looking for the HIPAA agreement and handbook, but couldn't find them.

What about the confidentiality statement? You have that?

What about the confidentiality statement? You have that?

Nope haha. HIPAA and handbook were all I could remember off the top of my head.

Wait was the hand book emailed to us?

Wait was the hand book emailed to us?

I never received it if it was lol

Good morning

Does anyone know how I upload my documents to C Branch?

You need to go to

I dont think you can get the form until 7/27/18 i'm assuming.

I just spoke to someone from Malcolm X. They stated for the UA that is the drug screen. The hippa cert, confidentiality statement and handbook acknowledgement are the things that we will get once we are in orientation. I also asked about Polio and she said Castle branch may list extra stuff but if Polio wasn't on our list of documents we need then we don't have to worry about it, which it wasn't on the list of stuff we needed.

Also, has anyone else received the orientation email? I haven't received it. If someone can forward me it via email, that would be great! Let me know so i can provide my deets!

I just dropped off all my documents on campus, so I'm all done with that!! All I have left is the antibody result which can't be done until next month for the hep B booster to take full effect. She said that for the upcoming year, we will be required to do the flu shot for the 2018-19 school year when it's available and that they usually organize a vaccine clinic from Walgreens to come to the school!

Also for the additional stuff on CB, she said that if it wasn't requested in the welcome packet, to just ignore it. Apparently this is the first year the nursing program is using Castlebranch and they're still ironing out all the errors. I saw Toni Scott, she is awesome and she appreciated how organized I was. Apparently she sends students away if you're just going to be wasting her time!

I also asked someone else at the nursing office about class registration and she said we should be able to pick our own schedule. So I'm going to take her response with a grain of salt...haha.

It should be on the very top, you print out a form to give to LabCorp. You click "take your drug test" and download the file to print. You take it in to the nearest LabCorp location after July 27th.

I love Toni Scoot, she was so funny when i saw her yesterday! And regarding the flu shot, I sadly need that by the time we start clinicals since i didn't get my flu shot last flu season :( So I've called some places yesterday and they said they should receive the 2018 flu vaccines mid august so that's when i'll call back again and try to get mine. Otherwise some places said the end of August.

I also heard we can register during orientation. But who knows! I hope we can pick our own schedule though. I feel like we should because some people may only be doing weekend classes and how is the school supposed to know that? They don't. Lol. So i'm going to assume we can pick our own classes. If not, i'll be pissed haha
