Malcolm X College Nursing 2018

Have you applied? Have you heard anything? Do you have some helpful information to share?

Does any one know if we can email the 2 people in the paperwork we got as well the forms or do we have to take the original to them in person?

We are already uploading the documents so I don't see why we have to give the 2 people from Malcolm documents too?

Is anyone else nervous about not being able to register until orientation!?

I doubt there will be a lot of evening classes offered.

I'm super nervous about having to wait until orientation to register. There are really only two class sections that will be okay with my work schedule. I'm planning to do the evening option, so hopefully not as many people are doing that... It also gives us no time to shop around for textbooks!

My program was changed to nursing but my school/adviser aren't MXC. I'm pretty sure we are supposed to get an MXC adviser at some point.

As for the forms, I believe they need to be taken to the school in person. I got this email from Toni Scott when my doctor tried to fax my documents:

"I received a voice message from your healthcare provider asking for a fax number to send your medical compliance documents. As stated in your welcome letter, students are to submit paper copies to my office. Faxed, scanned or emailed copies are not accepted."

oh man, that sucks then. Especially for people who work and have to take time off to just drop papers off.

I'll email my advisor then and ask when will my program change.

Does anyone know if they will still just raffle numbers to register us for class?

Did he tell you what dates or times he is available to drop papers off?

So what they recommend, because i just got done at Malcolm X, is making an appointment with Tony Scott (but she will be replaced as she's leaving in 2 weeks) so make sure you have all your necessary documentation. We are the first year using castle branch to upload our documents but they also want it in person for back up just in case anything goes wrong. So i've submitted all my documents, i just have to upload it to Castle Branch. Also, if you didn't get the influenza shot for 2017 (i didn't), I somehow have to find a place that has the 2017 flu shot in stock. haha. I think that'll be extremely hard to do seeing as its not even flu season, so if anyone knows of anywhere that still has the 2017 flu shot in stock, let me know! :)

Good to know - I'm planning to take in my docs next week. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT about the flu vaccine?! I got one at the beginning of this year, but how on earth do they expect us to find a vaccine from last year?

My program just changed finally on academic plan

Oh no you're fine. If you got one from this past flu season you're set! I didn't get one from the past flu season, which does lead into this year, so i somehow have to find a place that still has the prior flu season vaccines in stock, and calling around, no one has them in stock at all. So idk how i'm going to manage that. :( I know some places may be getting them late August so i'm hoping that will happen.

Do we need the urinalysis? Is that something new now

Where do we find the forms for the HIPAA certification, handbook acknowledgement, and confidentiality statement...cuz that is on castlebranch and...we don't have any of this in our welcome packet. Does anyone know?

How do we make an appointment to drop off docs?

Also our urinalysis can't be done until July 27th, so you have to wait until then!

Does Walgreens still have them in stock?! I always get mine done there...or through my daughter's ped.

The urine drug test is after July 27 but urinalysis is a different lab test. It is the just like a regular urine check.

I'm thinking the other forms they are going to give to us on orientation to sign maybe?
