Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷
I attended the nursing information session yesterday at Malcolm X, and it was confirmed that no applications have been reviewed yet. I asked if the program is first-come, first-served, and they said no. If that were the case, the spots would already be filled by now, so if your application is still showing incomplete because of the medical documents and background checks, it's simply a processing delay and not because they've already filled the spots. The review process won't begin until the end of the application cycle, so stay positive!
Some people asked what makes a candidate competitive, and they said the selection is based on GPA, TEAS score, the completion of document submission, and that all pre-reqs are completed. The TEAS score part confused me a little, because at the first info session, they said the TEAS was pass or fail when I asked if I should retake it after already passing. But now, they mentioned that if two candidates have a similar GPA, the one with the higher TEAS score would look better. Lastly, the acceptance emails should be sent out around the final exam week before the holidays!

Makes no sense because my doctor told me it's a self assessment form and she can't because she isn't affiliated with cook county... also I emailed the school and what they stated was confusing, but they didn't mention stamping it. Just said the website needs to be revamped whatever that means... also what about the influenza shot? I says on the clinical compliance form that it needs to be signed and dated by the doctor. I'm confused are the talking about on the immunizations form? The doctor signing and stamping that document with the influenza being checked off, or just whatever document that shows proof you had the shot. This process is confusing... I already applied and submitted everything Monday.
I really wish I could give you some clarification, but since my medical documents still haven't been checked off yet, I can't confirm if I did mine correctly 😅

Thank you for this information. Kudos!
Hi everyone! I hope everything go well for all of you in here! I just want to vent because I know I would not have an opportunity for Spring 2026 (deep in my heart I am still hoping I will make it tho). I applied the very first day the application opened and after 3 weeks I was marked all complete in my castle branch, all medical documentation even though in the student portal my background check and medical documentation is still showing incomplete until today! My biggest problem is that I gave the first time ever my TEAS exam the first week of September and I missed it by one point in reading 😞 I got 72,1% in reading! I felt so devastated but I knew it was my fault, I gave the exam without proper studdying and being 11 years out from school! So I was thinking if it is a good idea to retake the exam for this cohort. I am working full time as a PCT, and finishing one class this semester so I felt that it is too much so I accepted that maybe the next time. Also I checked the TEAS exam slots were full. Last week I received an email from the admission specialist saying that they opened 2 more dates for people going to take or retake the TEAS exam and I registered without doubting because I said im gonna try until the end and took it as a sign! Is it part of the application process that they send that email? Or is something happening that they opened more dates? Do this happened before anyone know? I am going to give my las shot because I have all my medical documentation ready since the beginning but I know the TEAS play the most important requirement here, so lets see! I WISH LUCK AND SUCCESS to everyone here, I know all of us are giving our best and doing a lot of effort to be part of this, so keep it up guys! You're doing great 🙂
