Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷

Clinical Coordinator : [MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME]
The only person processing Castle branch matters for AAS(clinical readiness; to make sure you have all the docs for your clinical after you get accepted into the program) + LPN(Clinical Readiness)+AAS(Admission) + LPN(Admission)
That's why it's taking it's taking forever to get to reviewing your application.
As I mentioned above, all of my application status was updated except Medical docs and Background check. If you are having the same problem, please don't send her an email because that gives her more work with all that replies. Instead go see her on 2nd floor LOL, ofc make it quick so that she can get back to her work too.
I was able to see her in person and she updated my statuses right in front of me. According to what I inferred out of our convo, even if you submitted all of your documents on the first day of the application window, it doesn't make you the first person. The first person on the applicant list is that first person she check off: the first person she update statuses regarding Castle Branch.
She's a very nice person. I think this is a loop hole in the process; essentially, going to see her in person and updating the statuses put you ahead of people who submitted before you. If you are seeing this tread, I believe you deserve the cheat code because it means you care very much about this or probably a second time applicant, but again, PLEASE keep this as a secrete within this community because if everyone is crowding her office, she's not going to make any progress with the applications.
I will believe you with this info. Let's meet in the program.
Thats really helpful! Do you need to call beforehand or just go there? Can u give us like a day and time that u think would be best to visit? I really am desperate to get these checklists off.
PennyDar said:I submitted my application on the first day, so it has been a little over three weeks now. I plan to send a follow-up email if I don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks. I was told there were over 300 applications submitted on the first day alone 😲
This Kind of scares me. It's already the middle of October and I won't be able to complete everything until later this week. Hopefully I can still get in. I just passed my TEAS test at least :(

I was also told that they don't start looking at the other stuff until after we pass the TEAS test. Someone said there was 300 applications. That just means they applied through the student portal but not necessarily that they completed everything I guess. Good luck everyone.

Try to mail them continuously, this is how I got mine updated. Too many issues on their table. Goodluck.
Thank you! I actually emailed then went to see [MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME] to update mine and she wrote down my name to take a look at it. No updates still so im waiting again til Monday. She said they were getting behind tho.
I received an email saying that they'll update the applications before the closing date. My concern is that my documents have been ready since the first day, but they still have not review mine. I truly hope it's not based on who they processed the documents first, and the delay in processing on their end won't affect the opportunity to get a spot 🤔

PennyDar,
I really feel you. They also said the same thing to me and that it's a manual process so we have to be patient. I went there to see the coordinator that updates our medical documents last Thursday and also emailed them a couple of times after that. Mine still hasn't been updated until now. I'm getting worried even though they said it won't affect our application. I just don't get why they can't update ours that's already done.

Hey all! The good thing about this delay is in its uniformity. Though it is disturbing, we should keep hope alive. I derive my confidence that I will make it majorly because I got Director Denial in Fall 2026.
