Hello everyone! I wanted to start this thread for those of us applying to the Malcolm X College ADN Program for Spring 2026. This can be a place where we share updates on applications and requirements, ask questions, exchange information, and support each other along the way. I'm really looking forward to connecting with you all and going through this journey together. 🌷
Does anyone know what brand the scrubs are that we have to buy and what length of lab coat? I can't seem to access the uniforms online through the link or the bookstore! I plan on going to the store someone mentioned to get the patch put on the scrubs I already have and seeing if they maybe have some info. I'm in the PN program if it matters. Also curious how many classes you guys signed up for. I only signed up for one because I couldn't find 2 classes that would line up with my schedule! The lack of information is not fun! HahaÂ
Hey guys has anyone not received their scrubs? Orientation is tomorrow, I had ordered my scrubs a week ago but with the holidays there was a delay in my shipment and won't get my scrubs until tomorrow. Im not sure what else to do, I sent out an email to the school but my only option is to wear a pair of royal blue scrubs I already own, of course they don't have the patch but if anyone has any suggestions or are in the same boat can you please reply.Â
I never even ordered the scrubs because I couldn't get the Links to work! So I'm wearing a pair I bought on Amazon to orientation. I got the patch at Chicago Uniform Company on Roosevelt. They even put sewed it on same day, super fast. I think as long as you have the right color scrubs you'll be fine. I know many people have said the shipping from the site takes forever. If you would share the link though I would appreciate it!Â

Hello, I have been following the group but have not commented. I received a director's denial and about 5 days letter I received a letter explaining that I met the requirements, but due to a large number of applicants I was not selected. I was told that I could write an appeal letter by 12/29 and if seats became available they would reach out to me. I wrote my letter on 12/25 and yesterday I received a call that there was an open seat available for me and if I wanted to accept it. Friday is make up orientation. She did mention I was the last person she was reaching out to. Hope this helps!Â

Oh! That's awesome! Congratulations.... Did the mention what is the correct format to write an appeal or how it has to be directed? How you did yours? Because I received the same email but it was not clear how the appeal has to be made and where or who has to receive! Thanks for your update!Â

Thank you 😊 I just wrote the letter as I would a formal letter to the nursing admissions and the dean of nursing. I spoke about my passion for being a nurse and my background of currently being in the healthcare field. I also spoke about my support from my employer and family, and how that would aid in success within the program. Lastly, I just spoke about my long term goals and the impact I hope to have within the nursing profession. I never received an email in response to the appeal, just the phone call from one of the nursing faculty.Â
