Malcolm X College-City Colleges of Chicago Nursing Fall 2021

Hey guys! My name’s Aminah and I’m gearing up to apply to Malcolm X’s Fall 2021 nursing program (woo-hoo!). Previous Malcolm X forums have been super helpful with giving me an idea of the program/ preparing me to apply so I wanted to start one for Fall 2021! 

I believe the application cycle begins January 4th. Would love to get in contact with other applicants! Have you taken the TEAS already? Do you still have a prereq to complete? Let’s chat ?.

Congratulations to those who are already accepted. I’m so anxious, applied for the LPN to RN bridge but, I haven’t heard anything back yet. I’m going to retake the TEAS because, my overall school is not to my liking.

To think, I was even considering re-taking the TEAS!  Happy to have this weight off my shoulders now.  I also just landed a hospital job as a CNA which I'm also still in shock from.  Overall, I'm incredibly blessed and grateful.  I honestly thought it was bad news since it came early! PHEW!

Can you share your TEAS score? Does it really counts for 60% of admission?

I'm so anxious too! I'm just two components away from potentially knowing my decision! So nervous! Good luck to everyone

Heyy Dortessia! Thank youu! Awesome that you’re an LPN. Lise Lu shared her scores a few posts back as did I (89 overall). Lise Lu was actually planning to retake it but still got accepted so don’t psych yourself out! Did you meet the cutoff? 
I’ve read that it counts for 60% of admission points on another forum but I haven’t heard this from the admissions board/ any faculty so I’m not sure.

I score a few points over on the overall, and 87 on the reading.

Ah, my application status changed to "in progress." Might receive a decision soon, hopefully!

Took the TEAS this morning. Got a 79% overall and 91% in the reading. The relieve is REAL! Does the score goes straight to the school or do we have to submit something for it? Now all I'm missing is my high school transcript and that's tough because it's in another state but I'll see what happens.

You did great! The score goes straight to Malcolm X.

Just wanted to come here and say I received an email stating a decision has been made and I got accepted for the fall! So excited and nervous. Thankfully I didn't go ahead and reschedule the TEAS LOL. Good luck to those waiting!
