Malcolm X -City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing- Spring 2023

Anyone applying for Malcolm X College for Spring 2023? Figured I'd start a discussion. I applied to the RN program and am waiting for them to update my cumulative GPA, background check, and medical document submission.

I ordered mine through castle branch back in October and it was approved. The school is telling me I had to submit it on the portal? It never gave me an option and I was under the impression that once approved the school automatically gets it.

Unfortunately, no. When I reached out to library for help, they called the nursing office for me so we can figure out where we can turn in my background check results. She was able to get in contact with somebody, at first they said that I had to pay castle branch again to send them my background check. When I told them I reached out to castle branch a couple of weeks ago, and castle branch said that after it’s been processed and approved that the school should have access to it, the lady from the office then told me that they’re working on my “case” and to just hang tight. I also just sent a copy of it to the administrative assistant anyways just in case. She forwarded it to nursing admissions and that was that. I sent out an email yesterday asking for an update and nobody answered, I called them so many times and no answer. I don’t think they’re gonna look into it anymore. Specially next week, they go on vacation for the holidays. ?

I hate to hear that , it’s a shame. I hope you can get some answers at least by Tuesday. They tried to play me like that too except with Hep B but it was all uploaded. They never answered the phones for me either but I emailed people like crazy LOL. I do not play about my money. This process was not cheap , for them to deny me a seat when everything they asked for was there ! Keep on the lines you’ll get a answer .

Thank you, I hope so too. I’ll keep emailing them on Monday and Tuesday.

OMG thank you so much Lauren!! I was honestly gonna let it go, I was looking into other programs. I received an email from them and an offer for the LPN program! ??

Has anyone received any more acceptance letters? 

Is anyone still waiting for grades to be put in in order to receive an acceptance letter? 

I was planning on going to Malcom X however castle branch had not cleared by TB test and decided to wait for that to be cleared. 

It is now. I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) about my background check and she replied saying that "Ms. Alcantar, I received notification that the @Admission Committee responded to your inquiry. We look forward to your application for the Fall23 semester." BUT I'm trying to apply for Spring 2023

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you can get answers too . Was everything done on your part before the deadline ? Is there another way you can communicate with me? They won’t let us give emails and things on here

You may post your own email, but be aware it will be publicly visible. It is only info about others that may not be posted. Additionally, Allnurses has a private messaging system that becomes available once a member reaches 15 quality posts.

I'm having the same problem. lectures are marked open but labs are closed. it wouldn't let me register
