Made Incredibly Easy

I'm starting nursing classes in the fall. Does anyone think it would help to get any of these ahead of time and start reading over the summer? If so, which ones? I have the 'Dosage and Calculation' one. Are any of the other ones worth getting a head start on? Thanks.:)

You can never know too much pathophysiology, pharmacology, and pt. assessment.

I use, love, & recommend the nursing made easy books. I have used them each semester. Doing the questions now will get you used to answering the nursing type questions---which, by the way are like no other multiple choice questions you have had before. The med-surg cd rom would probably be a great one to start now. Good luck! :)

These books were of immeasurable help to me ! Couldn't recommend them more !!!

I found the one on fluids and electrolytes to be extremely helpful. Wouldn't hurt a bit to get your feet wet this summer.

I am not sure it is a good idea to look at two much material before school starts, my reasoning is that if they happen to teach what is in the book differently then you can really be confused. I agree with the poster about Anatomy and Physiology but if you haven't had anything on assessment before or even pharm it could just really confuse you. When you get the books I would look them over and be familiar with them but even trying to read the first chapter won't always work cause in my program we didn't start with the first. Remember this is just my opinion Good luck

The fluid and electrolytes made incredibly easy. There is so much to memorize with lytes that it won't hurt to get a head start.

This is my reply to ANYONE who asks if they should get a head start on reading. NOOO!!! Enjoy what time you have now to do whatever you want, because when nursing school starts you won't have time to do anything.

i plan on reviewing courses that i have already taken during the summer. i have kept all of my books so i'm going to go over anp, dosage calculations,med term, and my nutrition books. i actually have to take a dosage calc test before class even starts! they also assign reading due the first day of class.

I'm going to go through my dosage math book and my CNA book to brush up on the basics. Other than that, I'm relaxing... the calm before the storm so to speak.

The lab value one is good too. It is a super quick "down and dirty" version of all the long winded stuff (tho important) you will be introduced to shortly! I say go for it. Why not!? They didnt help me that much tho-too basic. But for a heads up they are wonderful!

I agree with the previous poster, don't read anything before your first semester.

Except, the dosage and calculations. That's it. Those books are a good idea to buy, and use as you go along. If you're confused about something during the fall semester, maybe you'll be able to find it easier to understand in another book(that helps me a lot, reading different books)

Enjoy the time you have right now, you will miss it.

My opinion:

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER BEFORE NURSING SCHOOL STARTS!!!!!

If you feel its necessary to start studying early, so be it. BUT! If you start studying all this info now and school starts and your syllabus contradicts everything you have studied, your skrewed..........

Enjoy yourself now while you have minimal responsibilities.

TRUST ME!

YOu will have so much to read this fall......
