Macomb Community College - 2020 Nursing Application Cycle

Published

Hello everyone,

I thought I would open a new template for those who are applying for MCC's Nursing program for the 2020 admissions cycle. This should help anyone with questions or concerns regarding the application process or even HESI related tips. Good luck to all applicants this cycle!?

Specializes in Nursing.

Yeah, I checked that over on the Macomb website, took the exam January 3rd. It has been about five days; It has not yet been posted online. Eventually it should be.

I also took my exam 1/3 and my score was posted on the macomb website on monday. They rounded up to 97.

Applying with a 3.71 GPA and 90 on the HESI! Good luck everyone!

That’s a great GPA and score! The deadline for all applicants is February 01–that’s next Saturday! Then the process will finally begin! Are you guys as excited as I am?

I took the HESI in 2016. This is my last year to apply without having to retake it. Had some blips where I did not apply the previous 2 years so I worked. Now I am anxiously waiting to hear. I work for a doctor right now in the office. I really want to do patient care. Are any of you currently working in patient care as PCTs, CNAs, CMAs, etc?

Yes, I’m a CNA in a hospital and I love it. ? You definitely learn new things everyday and that’s so exciting to me! Can’t wait to start nursing school!

I feel that those people who already have hands-on patient care experience come in with an advantage, at least when it comes to the clinicals. I wish I could continue working but I have a day job and the classes are all daytime classes.

You can always try a contingent position as a home care aide or Nurse assistant.

Currently working as a LPN

Has anyone received their E-Mail with the official GPA and HESI score that is being used to calculate ranking? I know they said it could take a few weeks after February 01. I don’t want to be a pest and call them, so I thought I would ask to see if everyone else is waiting or if they’re being sent out.
