  1. Letters are coming today! Good luck everyone!! ?
  2. Sorry for the late response, but I really appreciate your input!! Wayne is doing everything online for the Summer, I'm not sure if things will be online for the fall though. It's just hard for me to justify paying 40k+ for wayne's program vs 6k-8k for macombs program when this area hires ADN nurses. Most hospitals also will pay for nurses to do an RN-BSN program I'm glad that Macomb has set a date for admission decisions though. Just a side question, does anyone know how nursing classes are set up with Macomb? Are they in 8 week increments? Are we assigned randomly to when we can start the program? Do we get to pick our clinical times/days or are those randomly assigned?
  3. I emailed records the other day asking if they are still on track for sending out letters by May 1st and this is the response I received: "The deadlines will have to be extended but as of now no new deadlines have been established." I'm not sure what to do right now. I was accepted to Wayne State's program but they start in May and I really want to go to Macomb because they are a lot cheaper. This is really disheartening
  4. Hey everyone, My dad works at macomb and said he received an email saying that no staff are currently working on campus and that most of the buildings at macomb are closed and staff are working from home. Does anyone know anything about this and how it will affect when we receive the decision letters? Do you know if they're working from home on admissions? Thanks!
  5. Does anyone know the timeline of when they typically decide who gets into the program? Is it in late March/early April?
  6. I was wondering the same thing, I have not received anything yet with my official GPA and HESI score. The only email I have received so far is a confirmation email that they received all the documents to complete my application. Do they email the official scores or do they mail it?
  7. Applying with a 3.71 GPA and 90 on the HESI! Good luck everyone!
  8. First I would recommend to start studying at least a month in advance- I made the mistake of taking only the weekend to study and suffered in the A&P section as a result. If you haven't taken A&P in a while, make sure to brush up on the subject, because many of the questions on the test were very specific. I found this post on reddit to be super helpful with links to study for A&P and the vocab section. https://www.reddit.com/r/StudentNurse/comments/8kl0yg/how_to_pass_your_hesi_a2_exam_cheap_and_simple/ For the math section, know conversions, how to add fractions and decimals, and multiplication. I found this section to be simple, but if you struggle with math I would focus on the how-to's. If you took the nursing course at macomb, everything that you learned for that math test will help tremendously with this section. Reading and grammar were pretty simple, but it helped that I took Composition I before I took the test. We went over a lot of grammar rules in the class and that definitely helped. If you need to brush up on grammar, I would recommend looking at Owl@Purdue's website on basic sentence structures. Good luck on the test! Just put in the time to study and I'm sure you'll do great :)
