I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?
If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)
I was originally denied for satisfactory progress. The only reason why I was lumped into that category is because I've taken so many credits that I have already had more than 150% of the required credits for my new program. I just dont understand why my appeal was denied for too many credits if yours wasn'tThe other requiremetns I have met; my GPA is not low, etc.
Yeah I was in the same situation, Unsatisfactory Progress. I had an insane amount of credits because of my B.A. What did you write on the appeal? I just put that I was returning to school after being laid off to become an RN and I needed loans to help get me through the program. I would definitely fight your rejection.

I wrote that I will need to quit my job in order to accept my seat in the program, since I work a regular day job. Do you think they find me to be less needy since I am employed? I'm not really able to support myself with it though. I'm trying to sell my house even to reduce my expenses. Maybe I should have mentioned that too. I was afraid they would see me as a credit risk if I did. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place with this.
Does anyone know when they are sending out the physical forms ?
I called on Tuesday, July 5th to the Nursing Office and spoke with Teri Hufel. She told me that physical forms and information about taking the ACE Passport test would be mailed to us by the end of the week. It's Thursday now, and still no letter, so hopefully by tomorrow or Saturday.
ZHockeymom- Thanks for all the info! I am not able to private message yet :) I too am an older (mid thirties) student. It is nice to hear that you enjoy the program. I am really looking forward to it. I am able to start in August, but because of some issues I chose to start in March. That decision was hard for me!! I will keep fingers crossed for your daughter.
I have a question about the hepatitis B vacccine. I recieved my full series of shots when i was little and when i got my titer drawn back in january it said i was non-reactive... So does that mean i need a Hep B booster or do i need to get the whole series given again ? If anyone has any answers it would really help..Thank
Amanda123, That happened to me too. It came back that im not immune anymore so I am getting the three
shots again for the Hep b series. Got my first one a month ago and I get my second in a week. You need to have the first shot
and the second shot a month later. These have to be done by the start of NURSE 1145
