2011 Macomb Community College HESI and GPA scores for nursing program

Published

I'm trying to get into the Macomb Community College Nursing program. I just took the HESI test and scored a 86.5%. I Also have a 4.0 GPA. What are my chances into getting into the program for 2011, since my HESI is still kind of low?

If anyone can relate please comment. Post scores so we can compare! Thanks for your thoughts:)

HELLO Oct starts! I would love to meet some ppl that are starting in Oct so feel free to send me a message and say hi!!

I am calling the nursing office when they open, but how are we considered less than full time students being in the nursing program? Lets be real. Supposedly I should pay for school, books, living expenses, bills, and since I'm less than 6 credit hours all of my student loans from universities all while working 0-10 hours a week? All while I am busting my butt through this program? She told me to take another class to bump myself up to 6 credit hours, but for some reason since Macomb splits the classes into 8 week sessions, in all actuality it ends up being around 10 credit hours a SEMESTER anyways. The lady in the fin aid office was rude and I am very p'd off with Macomb at this point. With about 120 credits at OU I am not just another dumb kid passing through there except I seem to always get treated like one. Oakland University sends me a start date for their nursing program in February, and I am almost ready to cut my losses at Macomb and wait the extra year or so for OU. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it, thanks

I am in the same boat! I start in October and realized that it was 4.5 credits so I am taking another class to up it to 7.5 credits so financial aid will pay for all! I am taking a medical terminology class online in 8wks so it will be done by october 18th. Good part is it will be a beneficial for me. Good Luck!

Hey August starts, what is the ACE passport thing like? Are these things of common knowledge and should know?

Don't sweat too much on the Ace passport. It was really easy. It will give you a video lecture to watch and after watching it, you test out in it. Alot of it is common knowledge on preventing spread of infection

Good luck on your start!!! This upcoming week I will be 4 weeks in and I love it!

Thanks Laura! I am glad you are enjoying the program so much!! I am very excited to start!!!!

Hopefully I am replying in the correct way (I don't post on forums I just read usually), but I just wanted to thank everyone for their replies, and good luck to you. I had to have some family help me out. I am an October start if anyone would like to get in touch

Michael, whats the good word? I start in January and could not be more stoked! I've been spending this semester taking a chemistry class that would go toward completing my BSN. Has anyone else done any early preparation for that track?

I start in January as well and have been taking classes this semester for my BSN too. I am taking my second English and Anthropology for my MACRO stamp. Plus I took my 2000 course phys-ed for the Nursing program.

Where are you hoping to get your BSN from?

Will

Hey guys! I am a January start as well =D I just finished my HSC 1040 in October, and didn't even think of taking other classes for my BSN (would have been a good thing to do). Have you guys done your ACE passport tests yet?
