Hello all,
I have been an LVN Student since November of 2008, and I am finally going to graduate this weekend! I am extremely excited yet nervous at the same time. I guess what I wanted to do on here was share my experience and hope to inspire others.
Coming into my LVN program, I was determined to get through it because I have a 3 year old son I needed to support.
I was married, though going through a difficult time in our marriage, and 3 months into the program I decided to move out on my own. It was tough, soo hard at first! But it was the best decision I could have made at that point. At that time I was taking both Med-Surg I and Pharmacology - YIKES! But eventually my Level One courses ended and I passed with flying colors. Towards the end I had found out that my son was diagnosed to be on the Autism spectrum, so the adjustment was challenging and I am still learning to accept it. But thank God, I had my family & support system ready to help me cope & get through this stressful time of my life. And one year later, I have grown to be a more mature, knowledgable, and assertive nurse. A few days ago I just received news that I was the class SALUTATORIAN (the student with the 2nd highest rank overall gpa)
Through it all, there were so many times I could've given up but I prayed and worked hard. And God, oversees all things and has rewarded me for all of that.
So don't give up on your dreams, if what you want is to be a NURSE then give it a try and reach for the stars!
You never know until you try, but there is no better feeling out there knowing that YOU made a DIFFERENCE in your patient's life :)
